Was gonna ask this in an MLB thread...
Why after the 3rd out, does someone in the dugout always toss a new ball to the first fielder (usually the putout guy) as he's arriving? Is it to have in his glove for easy access warmups upon returning to the field?? I've never heard or read a thing about that & it happens every single half inning.

C this morning asking if I am ok because I wasn't at Wednesday evening Mass. I'm not quite sure if he was concerned for my welfare, or telling me off for missing Mass 🤔 |
