If this Caps/Leafs series continues like this with these long games it really doesn't bode well for Washington. They'll be battered and exhausted while the Penguins are breezing past Columbus.

5 of 7 - Vancouver and Winnipeg missing. I wasn't positive about the 6. But that was the last number I remember, before the return to Winnepeg, I suppose.

Caps have looked like shit. That's my expert analysis. Whether they're looking past Toronto or just struggling to score at ES, they look like shit. Said it.

3 votes for the Capitals? Don't you know by now that all they ever do is lose in the first round? Must be going for the Gonzaga/well-they-have-to-win-sometime defense.

Minnesota and Columbus a loss away from elimination.

Caps should be embarrassed. They're the President's Trophy winners. Toronto are led by three rookies and a bunch of tanking bums that finished last last year.

Minnesota and Columbus a loss away from elimination. Columbus got screwed when the guy took the puck to the face and the Penguins scored when the refs didn't halt play. Blackhawks ever going to score? - whoops! Just did, up 1-0.

Blackhawks ever going to score? - whoops! Just did, up 1-0. I'm going to assume the refs didn't stop the play because they didn't see the puck hit him in the face and the Pens had control. Also the player should have tried getting more of their attention sooner by flinging off his gloves right away.

Calgary and Chicago 1 loss away from elimination. Surprising the Preds are up and can't believe the Flames blew the lead.

Goodnight Chicago. Unless Nashville pull a 2011 Vancouver, there's no risk of seeing Showtime Kane and Captain Clutch in the second round and beyond.

Unbelievably shit performance from the Hawks the first 2 games. Crawford playing his ass off and getting no support.

Unbelievably shit performance from the Hawks the first 2 games. Crawford playing his ass off and getting no support. And now down 0-3, and the Caps are down 1-2.

When you look at the pairings as to where they are in the overall conference standings some of these match-ups are pretty skewed. The CHI-NSH series would actually be the match-up if they retained the NBA-style pairings and the Predators are on the verge of sweeping the Blackhawks. That's hockey for you.
(1)WAS vs (8)TOR (4)MTL vs (5)NYR (2)PIT vs (3)CMB (6)OTT vs (7)BOS
(1)CHI vs (8)NSH (2)MIN vs (5)STL (3)ANA vs (7)CGY (4)EDM vs (6)SJ

Oilers getting a whooping in San Jose. Their lack of experience is being made really apparent. They scraped their two wins, too.

Only 3 first round sweeps in the last 7 or so years. With the BJs winning tonight, 3 series could still end 4-0.

Barring a miracle Caps should have this series tied up.

Well, they won but didn't exactly make it easy for themselves. Leafs are really taking it to them.
