Other than the fact that somebody makes, serves, and cleans up afterwards, what do you like about it ?? And, alternatively, what DON'T you like about it (other than, of course, having to pay (and tip) for it) ?? Also, where do you like going (in case we care to join you!) ?? SAVE FERRIS

Places I go the food is usually great. We went to the place you see below a couple weeks ago. I got the Rib steak and grilled Shrimp combo. Got the steak fries with it. It was outstanding. It comes with an excellent dipping sauce for the shrimp. Along with two pieces of bread. Plus while food is cooking they bring you rolls with great cinnamon butter. Many different beers to chose from both bottles or on tap. Each table has a bucket of these to enjoy with your beer while food is cooking. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been to Texas Roadhouse in different locations many times over the past years. Last time was two weeks ago in Baytown, Texas.

I used to like to go out to eat when there were privately owned restaurants, not chains, I especially liked the little ethnic places that were privately owned. The food was usually very good and the atmosphere was pleasant. I no longer go out to eat, I do pick up carryout once in a while (i.e. Chinese, Big Macs) but I have no desire to sit in a restaurant with kids screaming and running around the tables, the food is mediocre and often not clean.

Sushi, tapas and tasting menus. That's pretty much it, other than the weekly (on average) lunch meeting with a client, prospect or referral source.

I like a bit of a blend. My neighborhood is filthy with smallish ethnic restaurants, and a few burger/pizza places. There aren't any chains around here. Every couple of weeks, I'll make plans with neighbors to eat at one of them, in the early evening. Casual ... always jeans. And, most of us prefer to eat 5:30 or 6:00, when we go out (at home, I eat about 7). A trend, here, is wine/drink with "bar bites." I have a couple of friends who like to do that at the bar. Prefer to eat at a table. Sometimes I win, but not always. Also, the "trendy bar" places tend to get to decibel levels that make conversation all but impossible. Those places seem to be most popular with the younger set ... show your age, Divtal. A couple of time as year, a fancy restaurant is a lovely thing to enjoy.

Been passing it for 2 decades. Guess I should try it. You definitely should. If you are not in the mood for steak I would recommend their shrimp. The shrimp I got with my steak was fantastic. Don't think I ever had their ribs but next time I go I might get the steak and ribs combo.

Aside from the food and service, I suppose I enjoy the change of scenery.
