There is some current discussion on the Boards on the matter. What do you think and why? The Supreme Being Has no Gender, Being a Pure Spirit. However, whether we speak of the Supreme Being in masculine of feminine forms, depends entirely on how we view the Supreme Being's Relationship with Creation. You see, when the male creates, he creates outside of himself. When the female creates, she creates from within herself. Therefore, if one views the Supreme Being as Creating entirely outside of Self, people will address the Supreme Being in masculine terms. If they view the Supreme Being Creating from within Self, they will address the Supreme Being in feminine terms. For this reason, goddess-worshipping religions are not monotheistic. Goddess-worshipping religions are pantheistic. God-worshipping religions are monotheistic.

He is described in the masculine which is why it's appropriate to address him as "He".
This does not mean he or any angel or any demon has a penis to pee or boink with.
His qualities are often described in the feminine.

Why do YOU think that God is not male? Because I am not functionally retarded? Based on the evidence in the Bible it is reasonable to assume that God the Father is male having 'fathered' Jesus and all!

You DO realise how functionally stupid the whole concept is anyway, right? It is contradictory and EVERY Christian has to go through hoops of illogic to even get some kind of story straight. Face it, God in the Bible is male because males had all the power and wrote the Bible. The convolutions of logic that Christians have posted on here to explain the sex question of God and let alone the extreme convolutions required to even try to explain the Trinity, is frankly embarrassing. As predictable in the poll so far I have two yeses two no's four neithers
and a whole lot of 'spin' concerning the logic of the concept.

You do have a point, god is portrayed as male in the bible when in English, yes that has a little to do with patriarchy and a little to do with how language gets used, what you fail to see is that god is not actually male, the whole idea of a spirit being having a gender is frankly laughable. I also notice you failed to address the part of my post where I showed that God being referred to as male is figurative, but of course you have to do that so you can hold on to your feminist talking point that you think destroys religion.

Calling people stupid for pointing out the logical flaws in your world view is a thankless task. I would avoid it in future if I was you. As others have pointed out, you actually lose any credibility you might have had, and you look like a sore loser.
