The guy has sources we don't know because it's not looking good for a return of baseball in Montréal. Of course, for exhibition games, during one weekend, people are hyped but otherwise, even for half a season it's not a sure thing. In any case we should keep the Expos logo:

Is this a joke? So now 900 people could show up in two different cities to watch the same team play?

This is the beginning of the end of MLB in TAmpa. The people in Montreal will show up big time and the crap crowds in Tampa will continue and they'll leave for Montreal full time after a couple of seasons.

Tampa never had them or wanted to build them a proper baseball stadium. They've been stuck in St. Petersburg playing before handfuls of crowds for too long. Shame because they've been a model self made stream of quality players, unable to hold on to them.

What an absolutely stupid idea. How will this team get any fans if they are playing in 2 different cities? The stadiums will be empty and they won’t have a fanbase. One of the dumbest ideas I’ve ever heard.

One of the dumbest ideas I’ve ever heard. Didnt the team in Montreal move to Washington because of poor attendance? Yes. Yes it did. What a dumb idea. And which stadium gets the world series and playoff games?

It's no secret that MLB wants to expand 2 cities, & all that lucrative expansion money. They could still find infinite bags of money from the likes of Portland, Nashville, &/or Las Vegas. The Montreal thing feels more like Tampa Bay Rays on the clock for local politics... with Montreal being a safe threat which could be triggered overnight. Montreal still needs a new stadium to be a 21st century team, yet those plans surely are already simmering ready to get going. Chicken & the egg. Toronto idiots worried the Jays would lose their national status - yeah, because a ton of Jays fans in Montreal & Quebec City?? lols 15-20 divisional dates with both teams playing one another would only help each. TFC & Impact are much stronger together in MLS than not.

The talking point was that the Raptors were all of Canada's team, and I get it, they are the country's only team. But I have to believe that there is Toronto haters in Canada like there are New York City/Los Angeles/Boston/etc haters in the United States. There aren't guys in Montreal and Vancouver who were hoping the Warriors won - - that they wanted anybody BUT the Raptors?

Tampa will never let the Rays out of their lease which runs until 2027, if I remember correctly. And there’s no stadium in Montreal. Or Portland or any other city that could support a team. And baseball should stick expansion thoughts up their asses. Not enough pitchers now, that why we have “ bullpen games “. But expansion fees are free money to short sighted owners. And there’s still Oakland who literally play ina toilet.
