Not athletics but swimming. Shane Gould at 16 was world record holder in the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m freestyle and 400m medley at the same time.
At 17 she gave up competitive swimming due to the media attention.
In 2018 she won Australian Survivor and $500,000.

From her perspective, after participant #4 or so, it’s gotta be a bit of a drag. What does she get out of this other than friction burns? From the guys’ perspective, do you really want to be anywhere in that line other than #1? If you’re first in line it’s kinda cool. Anywhere from 2 through 919 you’re Andy Dufresne in that tunnel. Out of curiosity, is it 919 acts to completion? Or is it 919 in and outs whether you pop or not? If it’s the former, that’s both impressive and disgusting. If it’s the latter, it’s even sadder. She must have looked like a baked Alaska towards the end.

And another thing - it said this was part of a competition against two other girls and that her margin of victory was 21 guys. Imagine being the woman to fuck 898 guys and not even “winning” this. That could be the saddest thing I’ve ever heard.

Wayne Gretzky’s career assist total is more than the number 2 overall leading scorer’s combined points total.
Secretariat at the Belmont Stakes.
Babe Ruth achieving 90’s juiced up numbers in the 20’s juicing up only on liquor and hot dogs.
Brett Favre’s consecutive games streak in a sport in which it’s nearly impossible to stay healthy.
Gabe Kapler is still employed.

She also won 3 gold medals in world record time at the 1972 Munich olympics. But her guts, her determination and character to win through at 62 was very evident in her win at the 2018 Australian Survivor.

Steve Carlton's 1972 season. He won 27 games. The Phillies won only another 28 games. How historically bad would the Phils have been if Carlton had not been traded to Philadelphia and how many games would Lefty have won if he had pitched for Oakland, Pittsburgh and any other competent team?
