So, Australia is awarded a penalty kick for a hand ball, but were waiting for minutes now to see if VAR agrees.

She looked onside in the replay. Why no VAR now? I have no idea Wombat. In the meantime, Norway sends a wicked pass downfield and the Norway striker slams it past the keeper, Norway leads 1 - 0. Handball by Norway in front of goal. Disallowed by VAR.

VAR takes the penalty award away. Second time Australia is left high and dry by VAR.

So, Australia is awarded a penalty kick for a hand ball, but were waiting for minutes now to see if VAR agrees. VAR is causing more arguments that it resolves. What's the answer? Have an off field referee decide like in Rugby League? Change the rules? If a clear video replay still doesnt resolve it, the rule is too loose.

VAR takes the penalty award away. Second time Australia is left high and dry by VAR. At least Kerr was offside that time. The Australians look tired. They arent attacking the ball, and when in possession spend all their time setting up patterns. No imaginative play.

Well, long year for Kerr took its toll and she utterly shanked that penalty. Aussies never really in the shoot out from there. From what I saw Norway were the better team so good luck to them.

Got distracted there... FT 3-0 to Germany. One person predicted that 😉 Aaargh. Went 4-0. Also, Australia bottles it again at a football tournament. Also Also, The VAR is absolute dogshyte. Completely ruins the flow of the game, and it still makes decisions wrong and/or overlooks decisions it should be making. Just fuck it right off. So the VAR is staying for the foreseeable future, soon to be sponsored thanks to FIFA......

You are back in Australia then? No, Normandy. Doing the beach run today. Every town here has a war museum. I've given up on soccer after last nights display. It looked like the Australians decided they were too tired to play 1/2 hour overtime, closed down to a defensive line and wait it out to try their luck at the penalty shootout. It is one thing to make a strategic decision but you need the goods to back it up. Australia were outplayed. Congratulations to Norway, probably playing England next.
