Arguably the best year ever in film making. Two of my top 10 all time films here, and 3 of my to9p 20. Obvious contender year for best year ever.
1. THEM! 10/10
2. Seven Samurai 10/10
3. The Bridges at Toko Ri 10/10
4. An Inspector Calls 9/10
5. The Cain Mutiny 9/10
6. Private Hel 36 9/10
7. Target Earth 8/10
8. Ride Clear of Diablo 8/10
9. Godzilla 8/10
10. White Christmas 8/10 (any film that can actually make you feel sympathy for a general has got to be great propaganda at least)

dirtypillowsHell, there is not a single year for me where I can come up with at least ten movies that stand out (as in I score a 7 or higher) in a given year. but based on my 7/10 or higher scoring standard... 2006/2011 is the closest @ 8 movies each. but if I can count movies that are a bit shy of favorite movie status (i.e. movies I score a 6-6.5/10 or higher), then only one year qualifies for me here which is 2013 @ 11 movies. p.s. I am sure if I just used the standard of movies qualifying that I give a Thumbs Up then I am sure I could list more years in this regard but I tend to use more of the good enough to be among my favorite movies in general standard (or thereabouts).
