Wait, this must be what 2001mark is talking about in Jep's Copa America thread?
Okay. Sorry, brah, excuse my ignorance, too much football going on to keep track of it all.
Martinique having a set-to with Mexico shortly.

Martinique having a set-to with Mexico shortly. Exactly. I was going to start a separate, dedicated thread about the CONCACAF Gold Cup after the end of the group stage in a couple of days, but might as well use this one now.

These are the eight teams that advanced to the knockout round:
Group A: Mexico
Canada
Group B: Haiti
Costa Rica
Group C: Jamaica Curaçao !!!!
Group D: USA Panama
Group D isn't actually finished yet. USA and Panama both have six points and face each other this evening to determine who finishes first in the group.
Canada will face Haiti in the quarter-finals, so a semi-final appearance isn't out of the question. Chances of reaching the final are not very good though, as Mexico (the likely opponent) is a hurdle Canada can never clear.

Canada goes up 2-0 in the first half only to see Haiti score three unanswered goals in the second half and advance to the semi-finals. God damn it Canada! I am so fucking sick of this Canada soccer bullshit ineptitude. Average ranking since inception, 80. Today, ranking 78. Seventy. Eight. ![](https://media.giphy.com/media/xmxDw2b6xT2DK/giphy.gif) Yeah, Hockey Canada gets its blank cheques, Basketball Canada is cute signing Nick Nurse, & Golf Canada thinks they're helping society with ranked players... It is beyond any and all fucking comprehension & reason that in the year 2019, Canada men's soccer is such a fucking sideshow. I swear to god, I will take the Leafs losing 60 games a year for the next 20 years if Canada motherfucking soccer can get its head out their motherfucking ass & work, work work work work work work work our way into god help us the top 40 on a regular basis. We know how to tie our shoes, how to grow grass, how to drink clean water, & play goddamned soccer from before we can do our times tables. SICK OF IT

So the two heavy weights of CONCACAF meet in the final again (although for the first time in the last four editions). Sunday will be a busy day for American soccer fans, with the women's team playing in the World Cup final and then later the men's team facing Mexico in the Gold Cup final.
