Really? With the exception of "ROTS", most people seem to think they're not very good.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom ^This. I adore the film and consider it the crown jewel of the franchise, but it gets so much hate.

Really? With the exception of "ROTS", most people seem to think they're not very good. They all have okay ratings on imdb. I personally like all 3.

Two I thought of, personally in the Yay camp for both.

"Alien 3" - (I think its better than Aliens...come at me!)
"Hook" - first movie I could remember not comprehending why so many people didn't like it
"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" - first movie I could remember not comprehending why anyone liked it
"Solo" - Dude, it was more than pretty good if you remove it from a fanbase that will never be unanimously pleased. Woody Harrelson fit right into the universe. The monkey pilot with the NY accent took me out of it a bit, but that was my only complaint (how is there an NY accent in a galaxy far away???). I'm a casual Star Wars fan (ep 4-6, 3 sort of hanging in there), and it gave me the adventure (free of the politics) that I remembered from watching ep 4 as a kid. "Rogue One" got a little more appreciation, but the fans weren't all on board. I was. I thought it was a great breath of fresh air to the universe.
and for an indie...
"Rubber" - A movie about a killer, unexplainably sentient car tire that uses its mind to blow up rabbits in the desert. It's a real movie. A good one too if you suspend a little...or maybe a lot of disbelief. Watched it with some friends...half of us loved it (I'm in that half) and half thought it was the dumbest way to spend 90 something minutes.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom ^This. I adore the film and consider it the crown jewel of the franchise, but it gets so much hate. I think that sentiment has largely changed. I think most people were disappointed right after it released because it didn’t hit the high that was Raiders of the Lost Ark. Now that people can look at it as the standalone adventure it is and forget that it’s not the same movie as ‘Raiders’, I think most people really like it now. I know I’ve done something of a 180 on it. I used to rate it a mediocre 5/10, but now I have it at a strong 8. It’s a great action flick.

That didn't really work for me, preferred Dupieux's equally absurd follow-up Wrong.

I'm glad you've changed your mind, but I still often encounter a lot of criticism directed towards the movie online.
