Yes. I am an atheist who has faith that the natural world is capable of having produced everything we see and experience around us. I have faith that life has true meaning, that there is truth and that there is actually right and wrong...all based on a natural world. I can't explain it, and sometimes I struggle with that, but I've not found a plausible alternative.

Wonder if you can please share you views friends, Per the Old Testament - it states if you 'believe' in other 'Gods' you're doomed to go to hell. This is something I struggle with mightily. I was raised / conditioned to believe this - because of the area I grew up in. I want to be blunt - I am not condoning/condemning Catholicism. I still have a Bible in my bed and hold many Psalms and Proverbs close to my heart - however I struggle with - who am I to judge what another believes in? i.e. if I was born/raised in China - maybe I'd flock torwards Buddhism, - i.e. if I was raised / born in India - maybe I would flock towards Hinduism. I consider myself 'Spirtual' - i.e. treat others the way you want to be treated, never judge and live and let live - which is why I find this 'Zen' way of living fascinating as it creates a 'peace of mind' so to speak. does this mean I will burn in hell? After being raised in a traditional Protestant background, I, too, discovered Eastern religions by studying their art in a college class. I, too, was attracted to them, and still are, to the quiet peace of their plain and simple doctrine But each of them, also, had incidents of violence within them, and so I became an agnostic. It just seemed to me that all religions had ways of perverting what seemed to be good thing into something bad. Secular Humanism and agnosticism seemed the only logical choices.

which again is verification that theophobiacs aren’t victims of religion but challengers of it. So man up instead of whining about fake disenfranchisement. We WILL be victims to it IF we don't challenge it, owing to the fanatical delusion of the theists in imposing their allegedly 'God' given standards on the rest of us!! Right. We call it shoot first just to be in the safe side. It works for dirty cops I guess it should work for the likes of you. Otherwise you would NEVER be able to prove any threat. |

This post is abject illogical nonsense. People react to a threat to their liberty. The three threads I have written about the conflict between 'freedom of religion' vs the right to not being the victim of bigotry and vilification are examples of this from both sides. The difference is your divergence of world view... One view thinks that they have a God given right to save people from themselves and vilifies them to this end, and the other has the human right to live their lives in peace without being the victims of bigoty and vilification and being told what to do by others. It is really that simple.

Otherwise you would NEVER be able to prove any threat. So you are associating your preachy beliefs with dirty cops. Nice analogy non-Cool and it just shows how corrupted and agenda driven the belief is. It is not to be trusted.
