Not at all, maybe a little weird that people dismiss them for that reason. The works of F.W. Murnau,Fritz Lang and others of the German-expressionist school alone would change a few opinions I'd like to think, they're so visually striking.

@ Feologild Oakes Many people prefer what they know and are reluctant to go out of their "comfort zone" to try new things. Look at the distain for "black and white films" just BECAUSE they are black and white films. Often, when asked, they have never even seen one ! The same goes for silent films. Kind of like : Kid : I hate broccoli. Mom: You've never even tasted it ! Kid : No, but I just know I will hate it !
