After that most of the good chances have been by France. It's halftime.

Was a hard fought match, nobody was head and shoulders above the other, well, except for that tall French girl who headed in that free kick, but it was mostly even. But one team has to lose.

Gruelling physical examination for the USA but they came through it. France ran themselves ragged in the heatwave, with some nice possession play, but the 3-time World Champions were just too strong. What a finish.

Thought this game deserved to go the extra half hour. Both teams played well enough not to lose in 90 minutes. Whether you like the new handball rules, the quality of refereeing or VAR in this tourney, or not, one thing is clear, to be consistent with the rest of the tourney that was a nailed on peno for France. They have every right to feel a little unlucky by that call.
