I thought you would have read my responses on this thread to a couple of other people giving him heaps! It's ok... I'm very open about my lifelong mental health problems... I often raise mental health awareness on the sports board, and people know they can PM me if they need someone to talk with about their own, or just someone to listen.

On this Board I am known as the Catholic hater, which is unfair. I am the 'bad thing about Catholics' hater. YOU...yes YOU...with your fervent respectful insightful knowledge of your faith has made me think again. I don't just hate for no reason. I have many and varied reasons.,, HOWEVER you have shown me that there is a beauty in TRUE Catholic faith historically ( even though I find it misguided in so many ways) Religion is still shit butt YOU are not. NEVER let the turkeys get you down

NEVER let the turkeys get you down There is a lot of baggage with being a Catholic... the whole child abuse thing, the attitude towards contraception in providing healthcare, some very dark episodes in history, etc, etc. These days, people tend to hear negative news, and the loudest fanatic voices from the lunatic fringe, screaming about abortions and stuff. Not many hear of Pope Francis calling those people out as being obsessed with abortion, whilst they ignore much greater human catastrophes like war, climate change, refugees, etc. Who has read His Holiness' great Laudata Si? In which he calls for protection of the natural environment, concerted action to tackle the climate emergency, and greater love, compassion, and respect for all God's creatures. A Pope not afraid to tell Trump that he isn't a Christian, Christians build bridges, not walls. Did you know the Catholic Church is the world's largest non-governmental healthcare provider? Come to our Parish... you won't find anyone banging on about abortion, contraception, or gays. You will find a parish family that doesn't try to convert others, that openly welcomes the LGBT community as our sisters and brothers. A socially, racially, ethnically diverse family, where tolerance, respect, and compassion is the norm. We collect for the local food bank, we support refugees and immigrants... we fully support 'Refugees Welcome'. CAFOD is always one of the first organisations on scene in disaster areas... As soon as a disaster happens somewhere, you should see the amount of money raised straight away in our Church to support CAFOD's work on the ground. You will find people living their faith, not quoting Bible verses at others... Faith, hope, and charity. I think you need to differentiate between the headlines you hear about the Catholic Church, mostly revolving around the centre as some kind of monolithic block, and what happens at local parish and diocese level. We are involved in the campaign against the arms trade, stop the war coalition, climate and environmental action, etc, etc. This evening I will get on my electric bike to celebrate Mass for the Feast of St. Thomas, in our sister parish 🚴♀️ They do Mass different to us there. Their Church is very different to ours... They are socially focussed on inclusivity of the LGBT community, and tackling domestic violence throughout the city.

He's back. See? Now everyone can talk about something else, until the next time, of course. ..yet you are the one taking pleasure in someone else's mental health and pain. You suck as a person. No, not at all. You're lying again. I didn't know he had mental health issues until just now. You recommended Prozac for me. What do you recommend for him?

Oh, I already exist on a big daily cocktail of prescription mental health meds, and heart failure meds. I'm a persistent self-medicator as well, which doesn't always mix well.

Meh, I'm thinking of asking admin to remove the RFS board from my IMDB V2 experience... too many cranks, bigots, and conspiracy theorists, to make it worthwhile. It's not a healthy board. Yeah... Admin Do me a favour bud, remove the RFS board from me please... Also wipe the politics board from my account. Oh, and the Soapbox, I never visit it, but am sure it's full of nutjobs... Cheers geeze 👍

She'll probably blame Cody and Vegas as well, and anybody else that she can. Best wishes, Father Jack.

You are all really toxic unhealthy people to be around. Nothing personal. If Goz or Rachel want to chat, they can PM me, or find me on the Sports or Horror film boards.

We're toxic and unhealthy people to be around? You don't say? Maybe a trip to Room 101 would straighten us out.

The world needs to be reminded about Pope Francis providing leadership to Christians worldwide. I am non-denominational, not Catholic, but this includes me.
I also have suffered from the Black Dog for years, and I empathize with your struggles.

Father Jack, I'm touched... and whatever happens, I will stay in contact with you. Feel free to PM me, also. But I want to echo what Goz has said; we do need you here, to counter the toxicity of the other posters who are poor representors of faith. I've never singled out any Christian sect as a bigger, badder meanie than others. As Goz said above, you are the one example of genuine religious humanism on this board. In another post, while you were absent, she and I discussed this, and she referred to you as a Catholic humanist, and herself as a secular humanist. I like that designation - Catholic humanist. I'm a secular humanist, too, but have great respect for anyone who cares for our world - all of it - and if they happen to be religious also, well that's just fine. It is the negative aspects of religion that bother us, the divisiveness of so many who claim to be right, and everyone else is of the devil. That has led to so much strife. So, please consider staying, but if your mental health needs a break from this place, I understand. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/vryty7cpl/dove.gif)
