I live alone. I wear underwear and a t-shirt around the house in the summer. But pajamas with socks and crocs in the winter. It's winter, it's currently 0538 hours, it's currently 3C - or 37F - and I'm sitting here as previously described. I haven't worn pajamas since I was a kid. And while I can understand resorting to socks - which I occasionally do myself if it gets cold - what the fuck possessed you to wear or even own crocs?! I live alone, too. When I (rarely) go out to buy food and booze, I wear vintage Hawaiian shirts, denims, and cotton tennis shoes in the summer, or hiking boots in the winter. I think of it as floral camo.

No, I barely ever give it consideration at all. Once, in a very great while, I might shake my head and laugh at the ridiculous "creations" male and female models are forced to wear on the runway if I happen to see them on TV, but that's about it. There are far too many other topics that are actually relevant for me to spend time thinking about to worry about something as irrelevant as fashion. i dont normally consider it upsettig unless i do shopping for it out of neccesity like now i need some summer dresses and summer clothing overall, shoes too. so i went and it was just too madenning for me. i dont just want to byt stuff off of amazon since they are modern day slave runners so i give regular stores a chance but its just like the designers are trying to laugh at us for being stupid. so much of the stuff feels shitty, is somehow all the same, is uncomfortable to wear AND expensive. just go take a look at what they sell as women shoes. its crazy.

I have my own window cleaning business. Many of my customers are ladies boutiques. I can buy a long sleeve shirt for 10-20 dollars. I see these ladies summer blouses that are not even half the size or material of a man's shirt. Yet they cost 100 dollars. I agree. Women's clothes prices are outrageous.

When I was still working (in an office) I wore Dansko shoes, no matter what the season. Ugly, but like walking on a cloud. Most nurses, lab techs, etc., wear them... for a reason. Fairly pricey, but worth it if you are on your feet all day.

And while I can understand resorting to socks - which I occasionally do myself if it gets cold - what the fuck possessed you to wear or even own crocs?! Crocs are terrific. They are easy to slip in and out of. They are waterproof (all rubber). And I can wear them anywhere --- unlike slippers. Don't have to worry about getting them dirty. Just either hose them off or submerge them in water. Mine are camouflage colored. Pajamas are warmer than just underwear. And I can wear them to the mailbox and my neighbors' apartments. I just wear thongs. They are also rubber and easy to clean and maintain. My letterbox is about 20 kilometres away, so I don't visit it unless I'm going shopping, have to pay a bill or something similar. I don't visit any of my neighbours' houses - no apartments - but I often go outside to the bin in my jocks. I even put it out on the curb. Although I generally do it late at night.

Yeah, I'm lucky - or unlucky - if I have to go into town more than once a week. I generally wear the same thing all year around... Shorts, short-sleeve shirt and thongs or sneakers in summer and shorts, long-sleeve shirt and things or sneakers in winter. I've also taken to sometimes wearing a beanie since I began shaving my head. So many fashion decisions!

What's wrong with what you wore last year? And if I can't get something from a shop, I'd sooner go without than mess around on the net with money.

I've lived in a couple of flats or units when I was in the state capital for several years, but the mailbox was still always a short walk from my front or back door. And if crocs are more dressy than thongs, it sounds like you're the "fashionista" now!

I have been living in this same apartment for 40 years.

Well, being single it doesn't hurt to know what's acceptable and what's not. I have been living in this same apartment for 40 years. And what's acceptable and what's not? I've never really cared that much about that... Thongs are okay for around the house, pool or private property. But out in public running errands and chores, a little too casual. (I personally never liked thongs the way they snap and pop when you walk. But if you like them.) I wear sandals in the summer as a step up from crocs. And I wear tennis shoes and socks when working.

Casual, formal, a spare pair and, of course, a pair for Sunday best. I'm not fond of sandals, because of the build up of grit and sweat that can occur. And then there are those "others" who choose to wear long socks with sandals...

What's wrong with what you wore last year? sometimes nothing, sometimes everything. sometimes i change sizes, sometimes there is wear and tear. i dont stop wearing something just because i wore it last season. but i do end up buying something new each year for reasons above. also i believe there are simply higher standards placed on how women dress overall and that contributes to it. i dont have the mental resilience to wear simple shorts and tshirt and birkenstocks all year around even though if i could that would be my preferred way of existing.

No. Perhaps it's different in America, but here in England you can buy clothes for practically nothing at Primark for instance.
