Or would their be too much outrage actually?. I would say yes. but Only if they were the best actor for the role. And depending on various circumstances.
Then again, do we need any more batman movies really? Sorry, that's beside the point.

Personally I wouldn't care. As long as the performance and the movie were good. I was one of the few that didn't freak out when it was suggested that Michael B. Jordan was being considered for Superman.
Honestly speaking, would it really matter if Robin, for example, were a teenaged inner city black kid? Actually I think that would be kinda cool.

What I am trying to get at, is with outrage culture nowadays would people object to something like Batman being black?. Yes. They would. But it should be done anyway. Sooner or later it will happen, so why not sooner.
I think people will freak MORE if its a lead character, like Batman himself; as opposed to say Commissioner Gordon; or Lucius Fox (who is a black character in the comics anyway, so...).
