It's usually if a piece of music I like is played -
Dawn of the Dead (2004) Fight Club (1999) Vacation (1983)

Music will keep me there more than anything. Bloopers and additional scenes as well.

Exactly.
i was just about to say that same thing as that's the general guideline for me to.
but sometimes it will be for bloopers/behind the scenes stuff but the vast majority of movies i have seen this is not a factor simply because not many movies do this that i have seen.

I always sit through the closing credits. Even on a DVD/Blu-ray release.

I always sit through the closing credits. Even on a DVD/Blu-ray release. Me too. Looking to see who played what, listening to the music and in the newer films hoping maybe there is a little extra treat for those who hung around until the end.

I know I can check IMDb, but I like looking through the credits. With somewhat recent films (1980s-onwards...recent by my standards, anyway) I like seeing the credit for Panavision, and hoping there might even be a credit for Prints by Technicolor or Deluxe. Those little things mean a lot to me. I must say though, I do think they credit too many people these days (I mean, who cares who the caterer is?). I was amused though when the opening titles to the 1962 nudie film The House on Bare Mountain included a credit for the person who made the coffee. You virtually never saw credits for things like that back then (and look at some of the other goofy credits!): Someone should start a thread about goofy credits.

Matthew the SwordsmanSeems that the loooooooooooooooooooooooong credits has something to do with union requirements. Some of them are spoofs and well worth waiting for. Occasionally, the comedy films will tuck the "crazy ones" in with the real ones. Those are best when you are at the helm and can freeze frame. My fav in yours is the hairstylist !

Off the top of my head:
Batman Begins (Hans Zimmer at his best!) Blade Runner (that memorable and iconic end credits by Vangelis)

I'll admit I do now check TV Tropes before going to a movie to see if there will be any stingers and how far into the credits they're placed.

Only if i enjoyed the film, in which case I'm one of the last to leave. I do enjoy many soundtracks that play as the credits roll.
