I can't do a job either, where there is any kind of even moderate physical activity, lifting or anything like that. I'm not built for that, i'd kill myself. Trust me, I've had jobs like that before, I know I aint right for it.
I'm not good with people, I have little people skills. Because of a low i.q. I guess. I can't do fast food, I'm a slow thinker .
So duh, delivery driver, the only thing left huh. Ain't that right?

Ain't that right? from your writing its clear you are not dumb or anything like that. so its either serious self esteem issues or looking for attention or result of being bullied into thinking you are stupid? either way, you certainly have the intelligence for plenty of jobs. nothing with people you say, nothing physically too demanding you say, so work from home on the computer seems to be a good idea. - beta tester / do you like to play video games? there are actually jobs that include you playing a game and saying when it freezes or does something odd. you do not need to be a programmer or IT geek in order to do that. i did it for a while for a friend who is a game developer and i quite enjoyed it and trust me i am no programmer. i just played the game and told him when it acted out. - depending on your attention to detail you can do data entry or data mining/ analytics jobs. from the easiest tasks like reviewing if scanned text got adapted well into a editable format, or just typing numbers to different columns or comparing content of varius columns to something more complicated like evaluating. - if your english is good - proofreading - if you love movies and like to read - srcipt reading - thats a paid job! you read and tell what you think about. the script. my friend does this for a publishing house she literally gets paid for reading spy novels. its not editing it. just reading and saying what u liked or didnt - can you speak another language? interpretig or translating from home. it can be very rewarding especially if u do it for people in trouble. but u need to be flient of course. - or how about dog walking or cat sitting? thats a well paid job and all you need to have is love for animals and ability to be kind and responsible with them. what would u Like to do if your “low iq” was not an issue? whats your dream job? |

My last job was an engineering position that I only used about 5% of my brain for and probably averaged less than 2 hours of work a day. It paid less than market value but still wasn't too bad and had decent benefits compared to the average person, especially if you can pass the state licensing exam but you do need a brain for that part. I think just about anyone could be able to do it as long as they know the bare minimum about how water works. Only problem is you'd need a degree to get it in the first place.

You're just afraid. You need to get over whatever fear you have, and then get to work! Work on your fear first and the rest will fall in place.
That, or get used to the idea that sometimes you just HAVE to do a job you don't like. We all have! You think janitors are dying to clean their next toilet?!

yeah, I said that myself! Not in this thread, but I did bring it up.
The greeter at my local Walmart doesn't even actually say HELLO! That motherfucker just stands there!
And the one at my next closest Walmart cant move at all! He's in one of those wheelchairs that he moves with his wrist by pushing a joy stick! I swear! True story! No BS!
mstreepsucks just needs to get on it and stop wasting time!

All you have to do is check receipts with customers that purchased items not in a bag and tell them to have a nice day. Don't really need a whole lot of people skills, just requires you stand on your feet for several hours. If somebody bolts with a stolen item, all you have to do is call Law Enforcement. They do the heavy lifting. Simple stuff.
Hate to say it, but dude, stock shelves if you have to. ALDI has been expanding all over the U.S. (if you live in it). Chances are they'd probably hire you, even if it's initially part-time. The pay and benefits are pretty good according to their website. Maybe down the line you can become full-time.
If you really need help in seeking a job, then locate a staffing (employment) agency in your area. They may be able to help you find something suitable career-wise. I know I've used them a few times in the past when I was down on my luck.
BTW, I wanted to add you can simply Google "jobs near me" and it'll bring up a list of different fields. Choose one, read the qualifications, and apply.
