Does Chris Rock stick his hand in the septic tank? That is the most horrific moment in the original.

Why are they rebooting it already? I guess Jigsaw flopped...
Oh wait it didn’t. So this is pretty pointless.

They call pretty much anything a reboot, including sequels, so it's possible that this is just another sequel or takes place between part 1 and 2 or whatever other odd idea it might be.

I can’t see that happening though, because it’s got A-list celebrities working on it, as weird as they are.

The franchise has already exhausted the midquel idea (Saw 4 and Jigsaw BOTH pull the "set in the past" twist). And the franchise has been stretched thin with all of these apprentices. I don't need any more of that story arc. Of course, I don't need another Saw movie period, but a complete clean slate with Samuel L. Jackson (who has more talent than the entire cast of the first 8 movies combined) and Chris Rock sounds infinitely more interesting than another bland FBI agent taking over the mantle with a million flashbacks of beyond-the-grave John Kramer finding excuses to kill everyone he's ever been in contact with.

It is definitely more interesting and different with the approach they’re taking. It’s just that they’ll most likely avoid the whole storyline and come up with their own, rendering itself as a true reboot.

It would be very odd to do a total remake/reboot instead of sequel or 'side-quel' (ugh) and still bring back the guy that directed most of the series...
..but then again... Everything about this is bizarre.

Stop beating this dead horse of a franchise along with Elm Street, Hellraiser, Texas Chainsaw Massacre etc. let Jigsaw and some of his friends rest in peace already and they earned their retirement.
I'd rather we move on and make new horror franchises and new icons already.

He wants to assure horror fans that it's not a spoof like Scary Movie. Well I wasn't expecting but thanks for the clarification.

This sounds dumb and unnecessary. I actually hadn’t seen these. But yeah this is not encouraging. I can only guess that they’re banking on this aping Jordan Peele’s movies.

This sounds dumb and unnecessary. Sure, but I would have said the same thing about all of the. Starting with Saw 2. If nothing else, and I don't have positive expectations, it's the best cast any Saw movie has ever had.

Saw was a fresh concept in horror. Saw 2 was a parallel concept that became a sequel. This will be another cash grab with actors whose options are apparently fading. And the real star will be some fresh faced white girl who'll either be jigsaw or defeat some old dude playing jigsaw. It's too predictable.

Chris Rock is making a comeback. I guess? Well he has a few possible award vehicles potentially, if Fargo and that other movie take off at all.
