I just wish they didn't call her MJ. I like Zendaya and I like her character. But I don't like that they're trying to replace Mary Jane Watson with her. Just make her her own character (which they kinda did) and drop that whole MJ nonsense. Go back to calling her Michelle. She basically is her own character. They just call her “MJ” as a nod to Spider-Man’s most famous love interest, in much of the same way that TDKR called John Blake “Robin”. collider.com/spider-man-homecoming-zendaya-mj-explained/ Yes, I know the explanation. That doesn't change the fact that they're purposely setting her up to be the 'MJ' love interest in Peter's life. That's not a coincidence. They're purposefully making her take Mary Jane's place.

Considering that there were rumours/theories since Homecoming that Michelle Jones is a relative, even the daughter, of Nick Fury, it might make sense that Disney own a character from the Spider-Man series that Sony do not own for possible seperate appearances (I assume SONY do not own the rights to "Michelle Jones"). A long shot I know, but it's a thought. Personally I think Zendaya is great. I like her character. Couldn't give a fuck that her initials are "MJ" Actually that does make sense. Disney creating characters that Sony don’t own the rights to could be to Disney’s advantage. Have Sony even agreed to another Disney Spider-man film?

I don't think that is how it works tbh, I think Sony owns the rights to any character that is considered a Spider-Man character even going forward, if not it makes no sense how they own the rights to Miles and all of his characters given the Sony deal was made like a decade before his creation, and what with Marvel wanting to take their characters back by then it would make no sense for them to create a new popular Spider-Man and then just sell that character to Sony.
As for additional films, god know they could have and just kept shtum on it until after FFH so they can have a big announcement at SDCC or something, or have come to terms with not doing any more Spidey films with the MCU and they were smart enough not to sour the milk before FFH came out, there by avoiding a Dark Phoenix lame duck movie feel.

Might as well point out that as of NWH, Zendaya’s character’s full name has been revealed to be Michelle Jones Watson. So, yeah, she’s the MCU version of Mary Jane.

Ok so he’s going to dump Michelle. I don’t recall Peter Parker being a womaniser. Dumping your girlfriend doesn't make you a womanizer. Please learn the meaning of words before you use them. But having two girls at once makes you a womanizer. He’d have to dump one to get the other, because he isn’t a womanizer. That’s what I meant. Anyway it turns out that Zendaya is MJ Watson anyway.
