I probably couldn't even name any of the current crop. Last "big name" one I can think of that annoyed me is Bruno Mars. Cringey try-hard sap, "I'd catch a grenade for ya"

Not so much particular popsters, just that 'the charts' , in general the music (for want of a better label) is annoying and intolerable for me. Of course i don't choose to listen to it........but at work, for fairness, the radio play time is varied over the day for the different age groups. Consequently I and we are subjected to a couple of hours a working day, the fog of samy, bland, whiny, throwaway shite that is dominating the 'pop' charts at the moment.
The repetetive miasma of cyrus/minaj/little mix/ and similar type nothing acts ft. someone with initials is bloody awful. A plinky plonky synth beat with a whiny vocal mostly of someone with a heavy cold blathering through an auto tune, voice box thing with that moronic pseudo hip hop phraseology.......and all respect to anyone who does like it.....but it's tortuous to me. Even most of the youngsters at work, some 18 to early twenty year olds are begging the team leaders to change channels to some 80's or rock stations after an hour of this crap.
I am certain that most of these pop folk.....and fair play to them for making a bit of a living or more out of this plague of mediocrity....have a few days of studio time and just knock something out before the pubs shut.
I can think without any effort of at least 15 current acts I really enjoy and buy, mostly American or Canadian.....but the joyless stuff that gets the pop station radio play here in England is 90% never gonna be played past a year from it's churned out birthdate......let alone in 10 years or so.......except perhaps as torture for folk held in Guantanamo Bay.

Minaj, Cyrus, little mix, Maybe I'm just hearing things but does it seem like rock and roll gets shafted a bit as well.

Bruno Mars is a name that springs to mind. Jessie J. Will.I.Am. But a lot of the more recent crop of chart stars I couldn't tell you what they look like or what their personalities are like.

I know very few pop stars at this point. They don't even have the opportunity to annoy me.

They are all just names to me. I wouldn't recognize any of them if they walked in my front door.
Other than Taylor Swift. Her I'd recognize.
Door's always open, Tay Tay

Our office often plays one of those radio stations that repeats the top 10 songs all day long.
I don't often learn the names of the artists, but their melodies haunt my nightmares.
Yikes!
