Rumors of Miami. Chris Broussard was just on Cowherd and stated the deal that makes the most sense: Philly. For Ben Simmons. Sixers get picks back as well. Cowherd ate it up. Where's CP3 end up? Go! If we deal Simmons for CP3 and picks β¦β¦

Why would the Sixers give up Simmons AND picks when Paul isnβt worth Simmons OR picks at this stage of his career?

Still a terrible deal from Sixers point of view. Simmons is 12 years younger than Paul not even in his prime yet. The picks are virtually worthless

The picks are virtually worthless His point pretty much was Sixers are in 'Win Now' mode and CP3 is a better fit and they'd definitely come out of the East with a lineup of CP3, JRich, Tobias, Horford, Embiid Id never consider this deal in a million years. Would have to get an absolute ransom back.

I do think Paul makes them a better team today, but that only lasts for a season, maybe two. No way I'd make that deal.
That said, I'm choosing "Other", with a certain team in mind.

There's been rumors flying around about this. Say OKC buys him out for like $60 mil - still a steep price just to say get lost - and a lot of money left on the table for CP3 just to bolt. From my understanding the Lakers still have a roster spot open and CP3 can sign for the Vet Min after he clears waivers (somebody correct me if I'm wrong - this is my understanding on buyouts and when another team has no cap room left - but still has roster spots open - players can only sign for the Vet Min) Not quite certain if the Lakers have an MLE (mid level exception) where they can sign one player for $9 mil or two for $4.5 - whether a team is granted an MLE has always been murky to me - i.e they're at the Cap but below the luxury tax. From my understanding (again somebody correct me if I'm wrong) every team is granted an MLE as long as they're below the Luxury Tax - or am I off on this? I was under the assumption they were at the cap now but below the luxury tax (or am I off on this?).

Last I knew they had like $32 or $34M in cap space, but I think that was before they signed Green ($30M for 2 years) and whatever they gave Chandler, and whoever else they signed. One thing I know for sure, if Paul wants to go there there Lakers will find a way, and the NBA won't stop him a second time.

How is Daryl Morey still an NBA executive after giving Chris Paul that ridiculous contract? Even Paul had to be surprised Morey agreed to it.
If you're regretting contracts within a year of signing them, which Morey has done often (Ryan Anderson @ $20 mil a year ring a bell?), then you're not doing a good job.
IF OKC figures out a way to move Paul, the Lakers would be a good fit if they actually let him run the offense instead of running it through Lebron.
Bringing him back to the Clippers wouldn't be a bad idea either if OKC eats his contract.
