When Yoda said there is no try, that's complete bullshit. You can absolutely try and you can absolutely fail too.

When Yoda said there is no try, that's complete bullshit. You can absolutely try and you can absolutely fail too. Right, if you succeed at everything you aren't challenging yourself.

When Yoda said there is no try, that's complete bullshit. You can absolutely try and you can absolutely fail too. I must call bullshit on your calling bullshit. Yoda was speaking specifically of the Force and teaching Luke that he needs unshakable confidence in himself to tap into it. It's a lesson of faith. You must have no doubts in your mind to pull a spaceship out of a swamp using your magical telekinetic powers. Otherwise, go home.

When Yoda said there is no try, that's complete bullshit. You can absolutely try and you can absolutely fail too. I was just thinking yesterday how Yoda was right with this. he doesnt talk about the results (make it or fail) he talks about the mindset where βtryβ is the fail. and iys a fail even id it coincidently works out. i agree with him.

I was just thinking yesterday how Yoda was right with this. he doesnt talk about the results (make it or fail) he talks about the mindset where βtryβ is the fail. and iys a fail even id it coincidently works out. i agree with him. well i always thought that he was saying, you either succeed or you don't. "try" is just a word used to describe the intermediary state between beginning an attempt and the final outcome. so he's taking a philosophical stance without regard for time, which sounds a little like determinism. because in the end, the outcome is known.
my gripe is that he pays no heed to the pain of failure and the path towards it. it's like he's saying it's all or nothing. that's probably not even what's saying, but as it applies to my life, it feels dismissive.

That's funny, because that is exactly what my female hero, Carrie White, did. Look. She used her magical telekinetic powers. Then she went home. Carrie would have taken Yoda down.

But if you look at it another way, and you don't "try" at all, then your chances of succeeding have dropped down to zero. Of course, you have to try. And I have never put any stock in "coincidence" whatsoever. It is a man made construct to settle the anxieties of the non-believers.

She murdered all those innocents in the gym. She lost it and used her powers for bad. In the SW universe good always defeats bad in the end. Carrie wasn't evil. She was a confused girl going through changes and being misled by everyone around her including her own mother. Her reaction was incredibly unfortunate of course. But I think that if that was in the SW universe she could have been saved. But it happened in the SK universe in which there is only damnation, not redemption.
