She gives a really good performances in all of these movies. It would have been very easy for her to lean into Sydney Prescott's more Laurie Strode-esque qualities in the first movie, but she consistently made choices that went against the final girl trope. She never goes big, she never lets the campiness of the movie bleed into her performance. She lets the characters who need to go big, go big, and she plays the character like a real person and it makes the movie so much better. She's really great in all of the sequels, even Scream 4 where her character isn't particularly well written.

Gonna have to split from the pack here, I thought she had the least to do in 2 acting wise. She's basically stuck just repeating the same beats from the first film with no real growth one way or the other.
In 3, she's at her most emotional and vulnerable. In 4, at her strongest and most mature having cone to terms with everything. I'd say 4 is my favorite.
