Is that something you would like to see? Can Zorro still draw big crowds?

It would have to be a reboot/remake/whatever. I think the last one with Banderas was a flop.

Zorro was my favourite swashbuckling character as a kid. I can't say no but Antonio Banderas is getting a bit long in the tooth.

Not a big Hollywood version no. It's interesting how they changed since the Fairbanks one. In that-he was an aristocrat who rallies the other aristocrats to save the peasants from oppression. In the Banderas version he is a peasant who is trained by the aristocrat--and it is the old Zorro who becomes the servant.
The idea that Zorro would stay in prison for 20 years is very stupid. No one, especially Zorro, would be moping that long.

I was thinking presenting Zorro in a new way that would appeal to maybe a younger audience that isn't familiar with him. after all he does wear a mask and cape just like a superhero, I think if done Right there is potential.

You mean like Rosa Salazar stepping into Zorro's shoes? Or maybe Gael Garcia Bernal?

Well that would be more like a queen of swords movie then a Zorro movie.

They'll probably have a female version of "Zorro" coming out one day like "Zorra" or something.

I wonder if Idris Elba is fluent in Spanish.

I rather see a tv series about Zorro than a movie. That'd be cool but I think unless they go grimdark Game of Thrones style, I don't see it happening. Swashbuckler shows like that aren't really made anymore. The closest we had for a while was Black Sails which I did really like but it was just Game of Thrones but with more swordplay.

I think that's probably already been covered by the porn industry...

Definitely....always a place for one of the first ever masked vigilantes. I think it would have to be a bit special though to top the last two with Mr.Banderas as they were both super , particularly the first one [Mask of...} with Anthony Hopkins. The story, acting, production values and that sublime score by James Horner ....wow....ticked a lot of movie boxes for me and mine. I read recently the 'cross-over' comic-book series Zorro/Django by Quentin Tarantino... that would be an interesting movie.
