I think the idea is similar to what was done in The Dark Knight Rises with the point of Batman being more than just a man in a mask. It's a name with meaning, a symbol, etc. So with this James Bond film, it's about how the 007 number is more than just James Bond. It's a number with meaning, a symbol, etc.

If they want to make a movie with a female agent that is fine, but make a original female character who is an agent, and not just make a copy of a male character.
I am so sick of movies just giving us female characters that are just copy of male characters, give us original female characters.

Sounds like an interesting idea. SPECTRE has taken over the universe. Our new female secret agent, Backdoor Galore, has found James Bond. Now heavily bearded and cranky, he reluctantly agrees to train her; When she first offers him his Walther PPK, he just tosses it over his shoulder.

Remember, they already did a similar storyline in Casino Royale (1967). Various people played James Bond/007 in the film including: David Niven (the original Bond), Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, Joanna Pettet, Joanna Pettet, Joanna Pettet, and Terence Cooper. And if you want, you could include Woody Allen who played Jimmy Bond.
