Last part of the question is mainly to avoid people naming movies they've only seen on Mystery Science Theater 3000.

I used to go to all the SF movies in the 1990s -particularly after independence day (1996), when impressive visual FX could be seen more regularly on the big screen - starship troopers, contact, event horizon, the fifth element, alien resurrection, men in black, dark city, the matrix
these were the worst cinema visits.. lost in space (1998) sphere (1998) armageddon (1998) planet of the apes (2001)

Phantom Menace
Which i don`t think is a bad movie, but of the Science fictions movies i have seen in the theater this is the weakest one.

Highlander II. No idea what I was thinking with this - I hadn’t even cared much for the first one - but I really would watch almost anything back then.

Supernova (2000) Event Horizon (1997) -- these two movies seemed basically indistinguishable to me and one was exactly as achingly boring as the other.
Evolution (2000) - Mediocre comedy starring David Duchovny. One of those movies that makes you wonder why people spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to make it.
Lawnmower Man 2 (1996) - I remember virtually nothing about this movie
Lifeform (2017) faint Alien ripoff with a dumb ending. Bonus points off for using "Spirit in the Sky."

Jurassic World (2015) - I'd liked all the entries in the series up to that point, but this was like a SyFy Channel movie.
Hated both of the JJ Abrams-directed Star Trek movies as well.

ID42 ...which actually held a sliver of premise credibility going in & very early on in the film. Alas, turned itself into a giant video game cutscene, a hilariously stupid one.
The Arrival ...what can I say, I took the Oscar buzz bait & I was never impressed or awed.
Jurassic World ...I fell asleep in the theatre, my first & only such occurrence.
