(Edit. Some idiot created a sock account and voted for Daredevil 7 times, which is why Daredevil was at 17, and somehow has 24 and is leading the voting. So I'm closing this poll. If this was you, please stop being a child. I'm sure saying that encourages you, but it's that kind of stuff that closed the IMDB boards. Grow up.)
(Daredevil will not advance to the next round. The top 4 are Civil War, Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Winter Soldier)
In round 2, PICK 5 of the best remaining 10 MCU films and television shows that survived round 1 to move on to the semi final round 3. On a side note, I find it interesting that within a year we'll have new seasons of Inhumans, Daredevil, Jessica Jessica Jones, and Defenders, along with Black Panther, Homecoming, Ragnorak, Guardians 2, and Infinity War to toss into all of this. It's pretty insane.

It's weird how Daredevil has twice more votes that IM. I mean, I know DD was a good show but twice higher than the original IM? Dang. That's just wrong.

IM, DD, Captain America WS, The Avengers and GoG. I just can't add Civil War in my top 5, even if it did have the best fight in the entire series.

I included it for it's ability to have woven so many stories together, introduced 2 major characters successfully, and not only had the best battle royale fight possible, but don't forget about the bucky on the run from his home escape, Bucket breaks out sequence, the awesome Cap vs Iron Man at the end, and then a great opening sequence as well. Not to mention the crazy double twist with Bucky's assassination mission kept not only from the audience but from the characters and revealed in such a powerful way. If that's the not the best film in the series, I don't know what is.

AAAND, proof that the MCU can get Spiderman right. I can understand The Avengers and TWS being considered as better (though I don't necessarily agree) but don't see how people could consider GoTG and especially Daredevil as higher than CW.

Cap bothers me in this movie, his behaviour is not really all that normal imo. Just what did he fight for? Several of the fight scenes you mention, I've seen in Winter Soldier as well, just as good. I suppose it's just that continuing storyline of trying to redeem Bucky, fighting for his friend that just didn't impress me much. I didn't think much of that Iron Man vs Cap fight at the end, it was good, but nothing more than that. The twist at the end was a pretty good one, but you could see it coming a mile away. Why else make Tony think about his parents at the start and keep that mission from Bucky a secret?
I like it, but the other movies did it first, so I'll vote for them.

What did he fight for?
He started by saving Bucky's life, and then that escalated to preventing other Winter Soldiers from being realized. That was one of the main plot points.
The IM vs Cap fight was outstanding, I can't agree with you at all. Little things like Cap disabling the boot and where everybody was throughout the fight. Great stuff.

We'll have to agree to disagree, I'm afraid The Bucky storyline is a continuation from Winter Soldier, so I prefer to vote for that one first. Civil War did have a great super hero fight, the best in the series, but other than that, I don't see a reason to put it in my top five, to be honest.

Fair enough, you sound objective. The Bucky line was definitely a continuation from Winter Soldier and that was really the point. It was Caps main focus while Tony was focused on these new set of rules. The conflict was brilliant for the fact that most world conflicts arise from having two mutually exclusive goals that wind up related, but unresolved because neither side is interested in what the other party is most concerned about. Add in 4 great action scenes, 1 of which was the best ever, and the absolutely perfect introductions of Panther and Spidey, and I don't see how much of anything tops it. It's perfection imo.

Still can't believe DD is higher ranked than IM. DD is good but not that good. I'll go ahead play devil's advocate. See what I did there? That mean's like 3 things!!!
So I love Iron Man, please please please do not misunderstand that. But it is a relatively straight forward film.
Daredevil is multilayered. Let's take Fisk's painting as a small example. It's introduced as a means of his status of Vanessa's and as a way of discussing who they both are in order to form a bond. Later, you realize it's a reminder to him of his horrible childhood, specifically killing his father. And then later it becomes a reflection on what he's lost and why, when he's staring at the similar white prison wall.
It's highly crafted elements like that which makes Daredevil so fulfilling.
- The way Kingpin crafts several of his plans to counter Matt and co is repeatedly clever, and the outburst of violence he engages in are used very specifically to define his character in key moments. You do not mess with his family. - The way matt slow burns his traditional costume into existence, eventually realizing fisk's use of armor and tracking the source down. - The use of character's like the Owl, and the introduction of the relationship with Karen beginning as a client and her relentlessness - The fights scenes including the famous hallway fight, the battle with nobu, and many of the others are incredibly shot.
And then PUNISHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! An absolutely brilliant introduction for that character. Seven Minutes in Heaven, DD S2. Watch it immediately.

That's because Daredevil is now spanning 2 seasons whereas IM is just 1 movie. Of course a series will be more layered and will have better development. But as good a series as DD is, it wasn't as revolutionary as what IM did for Marvel. The first IM movie was what started this whole MCU thing, and the tone, the action, the idea that heroes can have fun with their powers, DD can't match up to that, not in 2 hours anyway. Obviously, pitting 200+ hrs of development against a 2 hr movie is not going to favor well with the movie.

Iron Man leading to the entire MCU including DD is obviously the bigger event, but DD did open the way for the entire Netflix series including the return of Punisher in an almost universally praised performance. It's so hard to say because both are great, but to me there is so much more to love about DD and yes, a part of that is because it has time to give great performances for Kingpin, Daredevil, Karen, Claire, etc.

I love how it's possible to have so many different lists. I would have Civil War in without question, but it's alllllll good.
