The Paper because it is a fun story and Keaton and company pull it off ! Shawshank because it is a terrific adaptation of one of King's best works. Gump because it is a great story presented in an imaginative way.
and Ed Wood because it's fun to see what maybe went on in his off beat mind.
Speed would have been in the top numbers but I re-watched it recently. Since 9/11 explosions and crazy people just aren't "fun" anymore, somehow.

They're still just as fun to me but I am kind of crazy myself. Dennis Hopper is too awesome to ignore. You haven't watched Speed in over 16 years?

moviemouthRE: Speed. I saw it in the theater when it first came out and liked it very much. I recently got a copy and just got around to re-watching it. Hopper was terrific (as usual) in it. Nothing about the movie changed. My level of acceptance of explosions, random cruelty and horrific people has. Sign of the times, maybe.

I feel the same way about explosions and horrific people as I always have. I would understand better if you were talking about torture porn or serial killer movies or something. I mean, most of the characters in Speed live and the good guys win.

moviemouthRE: Speed. My reaction to Speed in particular surprised me too. I think I shall avoid a re-watch of The Towering Inferno.

I actually went to the movies when they had a double feature, The Crow and then Speed. It was an awesome night.

Tons of great flicks here. I went with Wyatt Earp, Legends of the Fall and Quiz Show. Three of my all time favorites right there.

Pulp, Gump and Interview with the Vampire. IWTV was a great adaptation of the book, the cast is excellent and it has one of my favorite scores of all time. If only the same team had continued making the sequels, but I hear they may adapt the books for TV now...about five years after the recent vampire craze.
