From Espresso.com - link
I'm honestly not sure if this was meant to be satirical.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) - With Disney's track record, this is inevitable. Popeye (1980) Groundhog Day (1992) Pump Up the Volume (1990) Tootsie (1982) Taxi Driver (1976) - No fucking way Police Academy (1984) Waterworld (1995) The Blair Witch Project (1999) The Mighty Ducks (1992) A League of Their Own (1992) The Matrix (1999) 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) - Their reasoning - "Despite being quite the visionary, Kubrick's decision to put 2001 in the title of his film turned out to be short-sighted. The remake, therefore, will take place in 2101, and HAL will be replaced by an Alexa that spies on conversations to send increasingly intrusive and targeted advertising." All The President's Men (1976) Romeo + Juliet (1996) This is Spinal Tap (1984) Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) Speed (1994) Boyhood (2014) Modern Times (1936) The Godfather (1972) - Their reasoning - " Our present world has no need for more violence and cruelty. So, a remake of The Godfather would be about a man who becomes a real godfather, one who takes the godchild he loves with all of his heart to the zoo and the waterslides."

Most of those films don't need to be remade in any shape or form.
Police Academy might be the only that somewhat qualifies. And remaking Taxi Driver, The Godfather or 2001 sounds like sacrilege.

The one film that I would LOVE to see be remade is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The original with Kirk Douglas was one of my favs growing up but its dated as hell. With today's technology, the possibilities are endless. Disney needs to finally let David Fincher direct this! Fincher's reimagining would have been making the film follow the book more closely. I think it'd be spectacular. The budget would have to be huge so imo Fincher needs to get someone like Leonardo Dicaprio as the lead. No clue who he'd cast as Captain Nemo though.

The only reason I see for a remake is if a film isn't very good but has excellent ideas.

Again, most of those films don't need a remake except for maybe Waterworld, but I love to see a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I agree that 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea could use a remake.

I'm pretty sure it's a joke but even if they did remake an epic classic, so what? Just don't go and see it. That is the only thing you can do about it.

It's a gag. I mean come on. It's a gag. That actually reads better than the Godfather garbage we now have. It could use a heartwarming and uplifting touch. And instead of machine guns at the tollbooth it could be... super soakers!

They must’ve been very drunk writing this. What horrible choices. Remake the following: Robojox Solar Crisis Revenge of the Nerds The Gate The Gate II Knightriders Les Biches Robojox and Knightriders could definitely benefit.

How about a live-action Snow White, done as a rom-com in which she rejects the materialistic prince and gets her choice of dwarf as a spouse--but which quality is most appealing to her? Bashful's shyness?Grumpy's cynicism? Happy's optimism?Sneezy doesn't seem likely because of his allergies, which don't seem like such a big deal, but Meg Ryan dumped her fiance in Sleepless in Seattle for the same reason, so the shallowness of some rom-com characters can't be underestimated. Sleepy's a bore and Dopey's drug use puts him out of the running, so Doc, the medical professional, looks like the best choice of all of them.
A remake of Bambi, done in the spirit of the original book, which depicted the growing threat of war, anti-Semitism and Nazism in 1920s Europe, might be interesting as well as timely, although it wouldn't be for kids.
