This is DC's chance to step in and maybe steal some of their thunder. With the exception of Birds of Prey their upcoming slate looks promising. Wonder Woman 2, Matt Reeves Batman, James Gunn's Suicide Squad, Black Adam, an Aquaman sequel, the Trench horror movie spin off, Flash with Andy Muschietti involved. It's looking very promising.

I'm really disappointed Hemsworth won't being doing Thor anymore. I don't think Portman can carry it. I guess they're going to kill him off? I find the whole premise lame.

If not your complaint is basically they have some women and/or people you don't like in the cast In line with the comics. Hemsworth isn't playing Thor forever. So why not reflect what's in the comics. It's either Portman's character or horse/yak faced alien called Beta Ray Bill. Would a horse/yak faced alien be super woke? Because of course Scarjo is the official spokesperson for the MCU. And big deal....over half the world's population are women, makes sense more should be on screen. Just that...a rumour...but still, it pads out your argument And of course it would make your Marvel criticism a little hypocritical The sequel to the film that was lead by a woman and had her team containing a Native American and North African for no reason. "woke"? No idea who is in it, but didn't the first film have two leads one of which was a woman the other a black guy playing a character whose was white, and the 2 villains were female, one black! "Woke"? Don't recall Black Adam being half black, half Samoan? "Woke"? It's been looking promising since Man Of Steel, they just haven't delivered. It's a bit lame to think DC will suddenly shine because Marvel films seem to be more racially and gender diverse. And it's a bit lame to assume Marvel films will be bad because of it. What DC needs is not to "not be like Marvel" but just be fucking good...something they have struggled to do most of the time recently. And of course some of these films may never happen...with the DC films I don't expect a film until they start shooting. I basically lost faith in what WB do with DC for sometime now

Black Panther had a $202 million opening weekend and grossed over a billion dollars worldwide.
Captain Marvel had a $153 million opening weekend and grossed over a billion dollars worldwide.
You may be shocked to learn this, but diversity actually brings people into the movie theater, it's really only you that it weirdly offends, but something tells me you were there for those movies too.

I'm biased because I've never been that much of a fan of the MCU to begin with, but I always thought DC had the chance to step in as the number 1 comic book movie producer following the release of Avengers 4. It has nothing to do with their diversity choices or what not. I actually think diversity is a good thing. Just seems like the MCU seems a little directionless now. Thor and Black Widow should be moderate successes. I don't know why they are bothering with a Doctor Strange 2. The first one was lousy and didn't even perform that well (comparatively) at the box office. Honestly, the series they are releasing on Disney+ sound more interesting than most of what they are releasing theatrically in phase 4. DC definitely has a real shot to step in here and take over.
