Well, unless they're looking at losing a couple of whole days to rain, I like Australia's chances. England did not bowl well yesterday. Smith's in and Head's form has been fine, Wade's made a hundred batting with Smith before. 400+ on the cards, possibly 500. Our bowlers will get more out of the pitch than theirs did and theur batting's brittle. Don't hope for an opportunity at the Oval, go hard to wun the Ashes here.

From what I heard on the wireless, a couple of days of rain it looks to be. They said we’ll be lucky to get a ball bowled on Saturday and probably Sunday too. So that’s Days 4 and 5 gone it seems....

I think the weather will win this one. Labuschagne might have a career reminiscent of Stephen Fleming - lots of starts, 50’s, not many 100’s, but will make a massive one. He's a prospect and half I think. My only proviso would be that he has been playing in English conditions already this summer (and been great though) so he is well tuned in, you and the others know that other tests await. Right now though I would have him in my 11 to bat for my life. Who’d have thought playing a handful of county games would acclimatise a player to the local conditions. What a great idea. Can’t believe it’s never happened before now. You know what would make sense - go several weeks before the international games and play first class matches against first class sides in their conditions. I think I’m onto something....

It's a touch harsh to critique the bowling yesterday, they were dreadful conditions, those sort of strong winds make it desperately hard. Pitch looks a belter as well. Rain is forecast over the weekend BTW.

I had actually fell asleep. Pitch is a boring flat tracker that England will no doubt make look like a minefield. They need rain to save them unless they actually can apply themselves and bat for long periods for the remaining period of the match - Lyon no doubt will stop that from happening. No more than Aussies deserve really.

Some pretty shit cricket from England here. Not the most lively of surfaces, but enough balls in the right areas do just enough to get batsmen out. Helps if you catch dollies mind, but guys like Steyn and McGrath would bowl well on this deck, and wouldn’t have the opposition at 5/360 odd

what does everyone think about the DAVE CHAPPELLE special STICKS and STONES? I’ll probably give it a miss. Not the biggest fan of Dave Chapelle to be fair. Paine gone first ball after tea.
