Can't be interested much in football anymore to go to China. Pity.

I think he'll enjoy it more than putting up with the shits at RM. He's already looking up the best golf courses in China

He's got much more important things to worry about than footy:

He'll be rid of RM, star of the team, and getting a million a week.
Easy decision for him really.

When the career of a European player is over he goes to China or the US.

When the career of a European player is over he goes to China or the US. He could have another 2-3 years at a top European side before making that final downhill step.

There's little left for him to achieve in Europe. He already has all the gongs. I'd be interested to know what kind of taxation he faces if his wages are anywhere near the figures quoted in the press but he has the opportunity to be the biggest star in Chinese football and make loadsadosh as well.

Every time a star player signs up with a team that is not one of the top two or three in one of the top two or three leagues in Europe I see this sort of response from some fans. I couldn't disagree more. That is based on the assumption that the ultimate goal of every footballer on the planet should be to win the Champions League. Screw that! Being the biggest fish in a smaller pond is a perfectly valid career choice, especially when it comes with the size of paycheck Bale will be getting.

Then he should just sit on his hands, take RM's money for the next three years, not play, and do fuck all for them.

Madrid have decided that they want a transfer fee.

If he's got what? Two years left of his contract they will be paying about 50 million in wages won't they? Surely that saving should offset a transfer fee when it's highly unlikely they can trust to get a performance out of him now. Seems a bad decision. Don't Chinese clubs have to pay the same they pay in transfer fees also to the chinese government? Seem to remember reading something like that which makes a fee unlikely.

Yes... 100% tax on transfer fees. Bale not travelling to RMs Spurs friendly. Bale wants out to China. Chinese transfer window closes on Wednesday.

RM seems to be adopting a strangely spiteful attitude to Bale. They would almost certainly have condoned ZZ's offensive remarks about Bale being shown the door, but when an opportunity arises to offload, him to everybody's satisfaction, they renege, on the pretext that they want a transfer fee. Nobody else, other than the Chinese will pay his wages and he is not about to slink quietly out the door, so RM is saddled with a very expensive unhappy player and their behaviour is unlikely to boost the morale of a team labouring for some form, nor encourage potential players to join their cause. This comes after the fairly recent odd departure of CR7 to Juventus. Makes me wonder if ZZ regrets returning to them.
There again, this could be a bluff by Real to see whether the Chinese will naively hand over a few million.

Kind of hard to feel sorry for Bale.
When a player joins a club in a different language country, it's expected football etiquette to learn to communicate in the home language... He's been there 5 years, and just hasn't been arsed.
Having said that, RM haven't handled him well either.
Best for both sides would be to just part company, and move on... RM get €78 million, and Bale gets to China, and £1 million a week.
Mind you, if Bale was too lazy to learn basic Spanish, there's no chance of him mastering conversational Mandarin is there 😉
