And they still have Star Wars to release. Assuming that makes a good buck, and it should at least from the name, then that means we could have 6 out of the 10 highest grossing films of the year be from Disney. Good grief. Kind of a shame though that none of these movies are based off of anything original instead of being from a brand name or franchise.
Avengers Endgame $856.4 million
Captain Marvel $426.8 million
Toy Story 4 $395.6 million
The Lion King $350.8 million
Aladdin $345.9 million

I'm not surprised. Ever since last year, I knew Disney was going to dominate the box office in 2019.

Considering their market share this is hardly a surprise.

. Audiences complain about lack of originality but don't rush out to see something different. Until that changes, it is what it is.

Disney now has the top 5 highest grossing films of the year. Avengers Endgame - $856.4 million Captain Marvel - $426.8 million Toy Story 4 - $395.6 million The Lion King - $350.8 million Aladdin - $345.9 million You quoted the domestic numbers, but worldwide it's much the same story. The main difference is Spider-Man: Far from Home bumps Toy Story 4 from the top 5 globally. And even though that's a Sony release, it was produced in association with Disney's Marvel Studios. 2019 WORLDWIDE GROSSES Rank Title Studio Worldwide Domestic / % Overseas / % 1 Avengers: Endgame BV $2,793.0 $856.4 30.7% $1,936.6 69.3% 2 Captain Marvel BV $1,128.3 $426.8 37.8% $701.4 62.2% 3 Spider-Man: Far from Home Sony $1,036.9 $344.5 33.2% $692.4 66.8% 4 Aladdin (2019) BV $1,009.7 $345.9 34.3% $663.8 65.7% 5 The Lion King (2019) BV $962.7 $350.8 36.4% $611.9 63.6% www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?view2=worldwide&yr=2019&p=.htm

And just think, they still have Frozen 2 and a Star Wars film coming out this year. It's good to be the king.

. Audiences complain about lack of originality but don't rush out to see something different. Until that changes, it is what it is. I guess the real reason they keep making the most money is because normies go out to see them. Average moviegoers aren’t always the most critical.

It has usually been a common trend that people will spend money on a known franchise.
It doesn’t even make that much sense to single out Disney for it.
Technically Spider-Man is still Sony.

collusion , Disney has the best release dates and gets all the screens on opening weekend, notice how no major movies open against any Disney movie, they don't cause theaters would would put competitors in smallest theaters . This practice makes Disney even stronger. Hopefully when Disney Plus launches the zombies just stay home to watch later on their iphones.
