THE UNDERGROUND COMEDY MOVIE 0/10 Before seeing IN-APP-ROPRIATE COMEDY, I thought "Hmmm... It has a more famous cast (writer/director Vince Offer only plays 1 character this time (what a relief!)), a bigger budget and a more creative title than THE UNDERGROUND COMEDY MOVIE, so it could be better." It does in fact has competent production values, but then I read that some of the sketches from the 1st installment would be remade (did Offer think no one would notice since no one saw the previous installment?) and I thought "That's lazy, but some of those sketches had the potential to be good, so this is a good opportunity to fix their issues." It turns out that THE PORNO REVIEW's flaws weren't fixed, while FLIRTY HARRY, PSYCHOLOGY WORLD and THINGS YOU'LL NEVER SEE continue to live up to their non-potential, but... but... You know what?! My optimism has a limit! Speaking of the segments, ABOVE THE GREAT doesn't work, while BLACKASS was doomed from the start. I mean, how can a parody of JACKASS work? That franchise is already comedic. Not to mention that all the pranks are scripted (it's funnier when they're real) and that these actors are obviously not doing any real stunts. THE AMAZING RACIST also had potential, since it was clearly inspired by Sacha Baron Cohen's mockumentaries. The problem is that each scene tells 1 unfunny joke without a trace of satirical wit and repeats it over and over until the viewer gets bored. I used to believe that it was impossible for every segment in an anthology and/or sketch movie to be on the same level, but I was wrong. Every minute of both of these movies was painful. Together, they're 3 hours of shock value without a point and jokes that are only sometimes understandable. No, really. There were a bunch of times where I was wondering "How is this even meant to be funny?" 0/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.
