Even though I had seen it a few times already, I just felt like I had to re-watch it again yesterday. It has everything. Comedy. Some drama. And a very clever twist on how he solves the mystery and gets them out of trouble in the court.

Yeh, it's really fun. The director Jonathan Lynn has made some nice comedies. I also like 'Clue' (1985), 'Nuns On The Run' (1990) and 'Greedy' (1994).
Would like to see 'Trial And Error' (1997) and 'The Whole Nine Yards' (2000).

Even with the warts (Pesci being too old for the part, making John Gibbons a stutterer, Ms. Vito refusing to testify out of spite, knowing it will kill the boys etc...) it's an enjoyable movie. Fred Gwynne was perfect...

It's very enjoyable. With a trio of funny performances by Pesci, Gwynne, and Tomei.

It's a great movie and proves you don't need a real villain to be a great movie.

Is there a time limit on how long a gif can last? If not, should have waited until he turns over.

A minor classic and a gem of a comedy.
Everything appears to fit in perfectly with its tale and casting.

You really do not expect this lying fuck up to all of a sudden go all Perry Mason on the prosecution! What a great surprise that is.

I have heard from some law students, that some law lecturers at a local university have asked their students to watch this film due to Vinny's cross examination technique.

I have heard from some law students, that some law lecturers at a local university have asked their students to watch this film due to Vinny's cross examination technique. It seems to me that there were a couple of times where he was leading the witness which could have been objected to. And I've seen footage where a judge cited someone for being in contempt and did not warn them ahead of time as this judge did.

Well, if leading a witness into the truth is contempt, then it is not really justice. It is up to the judge to overrule or sustain it and that is dependent on their own agenda and bias as well. I'd say when the argument is a compelling one, it needs to be listened to if coming from a rational and logical space as well.

I'd say when the argument is a compelling one, it needs to be listened to if coming from a rational and logical space as well. I wasn't suggesting that leading a witness is grounds for being in contempt. I am pointing out two totally separate things which is why I separated the sentences. Just saying that despite the realism of the movie there could be fictitious things thrown in with court procedure because it makes for a good movie. If they are using this as an example for law students then one should hope the teacher will point out what is real and not real.
