So, what are your favourite film scenes in which a car is destroyed? (I guess trucks and such also count).
EDIT: Changed it to plural, and let me add one of my own favourites, from the film "Earthworm Tractors":

Sonny Corleone's car at the toll booth in THE GODFATHER. Sonny didn't do too well, either.

John Carpenters Christine but that scene is made all the better when the car repairs itself.
Also Kick-Ass when they crush the car into a cube.

I can think of many. Also I knew a guy who owned a nursery once. His car blew up.
The opening scene in Casino The fuel tanker in License to Kill Planes, Trains & Automobiles it just sets on fire, but it might as well have blown up though it is still functional after. In the opening to Mulholland Drive the car is wrecked. Lula's uncle's car blows up going over a cliff in Wild At Heart.
Duel actually goes against cliche, the truck at the end does not blow up, which makes for a better ending.

YES x 1000 x infinity for funny car destruction Also some of the Laurel and Hardy mutual-destruction scenes involving fall apart cars. AND Thelma and Louise but we don't actually see what happens next !

Most of the Dukes of Hazzard episodes when Roscoe's patrol car gets destroyed. James Best is just hilarious.
"Looks like someone went and busted up my vehicle!"
There was one quote in particular, I can't remember the exact season (I think 5), where Roscoe chases the Dukes through an Army artillery range. Roscoe's car takes a near hit (or miss) which heavily damages the car.
"Looks like someone used a howitzer on my patrol car." or something to that effect. Completely hilarious.
For a seriously great scene of a car on its last legs is the original Gone in Sixty Seconds when the Mustang does that jump and it goes to slow motion.
Also, the end of Vanishing Point (the original).
As far as car chases (and destruction) go, you can't touch anything made in the 1970's. The cars looked cool, and all the metal is much more satisfying to see getting twisted and broken then all the plastic cars nowadays.

The car stunt in Die Hard 4.0 was pretty cool. Crashing into an airborne helicopter is always a rush

"John Wick" and "Ronin" are great picks, as are many of the above list, so I'll try to throw in some new ones. Cameron's dad's Ferrari in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." This movie is hit and miss for me, and I really wouldn't say I like it that much, but what happens to the car is a good climax. I'm kind of a car guy, so I hate seeing a good car get destroyed, but I can look past it if it serves a purpose...and it certainly did for Cameron. "Matrix: Reloaded" destroyed a lot of cars, notably that slick Cadillac CTS-V. Though it probably wasn't destroyed, but seriously damaged, I always liked Arnold lifting the yellow Porsche off its side in "Commando." Hardest one I can think of to watch was the fate of 'Eleanor,' the Shelby GT500 in "Gone in 60 Seconds." The movie was a little cheesy, but there is no denying they featured some beautiful cars.

I heard somewhere it was a prop that was destroyed rather than an actual car (not a surprise given the rarity and value of the car in question).
