I don't know anything about video games, but I haven't cared much for an NFL game since NFL 2K5, which was the last non Madden game before EA killed off the competition and got exclusive rights.
Again. I don't really play video games anymore, I don't have any consoles or anything, but as I understand it that one is still a very highly regarded game and is still considered the best NFL game by some who keep track of such things.

  This is it for me chaps. Quality graphics there on the old zx spectrum. Everything which has come since up to and including fifa20 (or whatever it's up to now) is just exactly the same game but with "slightly" better graphics...

Windows 10 killed it for me too. Most memorable managers career for me was starting with the White Sox, winning 3 World Series in 6 years and then going to the Cubs for 10 years winning another 3 before getting canned (Cubs were expecting another WS while I was trying to rebuild after having Prior, Zambrano and Wood all retire at about the same time). I ended up at the Mets and rebuilt them into a WS winning team over 6 years amd then went to a surprisingly strong Toronto team and won 6 consecutive AL pennants, before returning to the White Sox and alternating between them and the Cubs for the remaining 90 or so years in the mode. It was probably time for me though. I would casually commit to MVP 05 Jan-Jun & Madden 08 PC Jul-Dec for a good 3-4yrs in a row. I'd created my fav Jays roster & maxed everyone out as much as they deserved (i.e. not making everyone a baseball god*). I followed that challenge up with a fantasy roster core around Pujols & Cabrera. That was fun trying to earn them better stats than their real life HOF counterparts. Then Win10 landed & ended it all. If I could've altered one thing about MVP 05 is that I'd allow all the unlockable HOF'ers to remain ageless. It's great playing career mode with them all scattered around the league (I also loved fantasy drafting to keep things interesting), but after 2-3 seasons, the likes of Ruth & Cobb & Ryan getting old & slowing down was a letdown.

Man these old school games all put the modern NBA Live to shame with its disgusting micro transactions. And people still fork over hundreds of dollars to make their players better in Live. It’s ridiculous.

I'm waiting until after Super Bowl 64 to buy another football game. Then I am hoping that somebody has the common sense at development to put in all 64 Super Bowl winning teams so I can do simulated tournament mode and find out which is the best Super Bowl team of all time. But they probably won't because that might actually be interesting.  |
