no, its very very bad trust me. And I really line Melissa and Domhal and Tiffany. The saddest part is that it lacks sexappeal, coolness, style and rhytm, and its written and directed by a woman so it contributes to the argument that women cant make fun/sexy films. Too bad. Maybe next time. But this was a total dud. Nora, I am not sure that the point of The Kitchen is "sex appeal," "coolness," or "fun." The trailer may have created that expectation, as may have the source material, but this film is actually supposed to be serious, gritty, and morally dark. For, to the filmmakers' credit, the agency and autonomy that they grant to the three female leads is not idle or cost-free; rather, it takes them down quite sinister paths, even if the movie's dramatic manner is a bit too glib given those dark paths. I mean the coolnes and dark sexyiness exhibited for example in Breakind Bad. sleekness of it o understand this was supposed to be grit but to me it dint have any emotional hook at all I didnt care about ant of them and it didnt look attractively made... was sloppy on all levels.

I thought that the filmmakers compellingly recreated the historical milieu (aside from the one gaffe that I cited earlier). I found the characters' sagas compelling, too, although the movie did not create as much emotional depth as it should have.
