Hey everyone! Doghouse6, I think it was you who recommended The Black Swan, with Tyrone Power, Maureen O’Hara, and Laird Cregar, to me maybe a year and a half ago. I liked the movie then, caught it again on TCM about a week ago and still liked it, but I thought it ended differently. I could have sworn that it ended with Cregar taking his place back in Jamaica and exposing Maureen O’Hara’s lily-livered original boyfriend as a traitor. As is, it ends with Power and O’Hara embracing onboard the ship, and fade-out. Does anyone know if this is a different version? I can’t find anything about different versions online. If not, is there a different pirate/swashbuckler movie I’m conflating it with in which a Morgan-like character takes his place at the end and exposes the traitor? Many thanks.

I do so hate to come up empty, but...
It sounds like there should be such a scene, but from last time I saw it some weeks back, I recall none. I know Morgan (or a Morgan-like character) figures in multiple pirate films, but during that period you reference, I was on something of a pirate movie binge, and the unremarkable ones sort of merge together in misty memory, so I can't suggest another possibility.
Arrrrrr! More undiscovered treasure on the Isle Of INTK. Aye, there's a wench who doesn't yield her secrets easily.

Oh well. Thanks for the reply—still not able to find what I was thinking of, unless my mind made it all up...
