I don't know why they bother (beyond money). Trying to match Verhoeven just isn't going to happen.
He had the best idea for a sequel-Robocop reactivated from storage to deal with a new crime epidemic. But it cannot be made with the losers running media companies now.
It was only because Orion was a smaller company.
Blomkamp sure is a one trick wonder.
I didn't think District 9 was anything special though. So overrated. The aliens in the short were more interesting.

They really NEVER should have canceled Blomkamp's "ALIEN 5" Movie.
I most definitely would have loved to have seen that.

Never watched the third though (looks really bad)

Verhoeven said he would have done Robocop 2 if he hadn't been busy-he would have made Clarence Boddicker the Robocop 2.

Perhaps I was exaggerating a tad when I said it was terrible, not like it was like the Total Recall remake or anything. It was just depressingly throwaway average. I really don't have a desire to see anything come from it. If Blomkamp wants to take on a franchise why not something after District 9?
