My apartment is roasting hot at night... And I mean ROASTING HOT. Sometimes I think I am literally melting in there. And no I don't run a fan because I just can't sleep with one of those on me for some reason. And opening the window only makes the bus that goes by at 2am that much louder. Man, I wish I had A/C.

Summer nights are the worst. Innit?

I don't have AC either, but I have a fan that makes sleeping easier.

Have you tried laying some bath towels on the bed and sleeping on those? There was a summer in Florida where I wouldn't have gotten any sleep if not for that. The linen felt like a hot frying pan.
