And now for my 100th post, Pelican last Tuesday: Good show, this was at the Boot & Saddle, a small western-themed bar on South Broad Street, but a safe part of it, not near any bad neighborhoods.. It's a bar in the front and then they have a room in the back where the bands play, really cool place.. The first band was Planning for Burial, just one guy with a guitar that used pedals, I liked his first few songs but then he started to get kinda boring towards the end, then the next one was called Cloakroom, they were good, I enjoyed em, and then Pelican, who were good, but since it was sold out it was really packed tight by the time they were on, but the good thing about this place is that you can still hear the bands in the bar so I was able to sit down and still hear them.. But overall, a great time and I look forward to more Boot & Saddle shows.. I forget if you know Pelican or not, they're like Sabbath's kinda sound but instrumental, really good

Saw Judas Priest in Vegas on June 29. It had been about 8 years since I last saw them (at this exact same venue, The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel). Loved it, though I was very surprised and disappointed they didn't do "You've Got Another Thing Coming". Rob Halford's voice sounded great, though he's always tended to sing to the floor or turn his back to the audience at times (maybe he does read lyrics off of something near the floor!!) Opening act was Uriah Heep, who kicked ass, too.

Wow that sounds awesome, Uriah Heep are great, very underrated!! Great time last night with Classic Albums Live, it was just a perfect summer night, nice and clear and not too humid, and I had a great seat, it wasn't that large of a turnout, but I guess tribute bands just don't draw big ones, but oh well, not complaining, it wasn't too overly crowded.. Was great to hear Zeppelin I and II start to finish, Classic Albums Live are great and I would definitely like to see more shows from them, they do all different classic rock albums.. And, cannot express how much I love the Mann Center Here's the updated concert calendar: 8/8: Ward Davis (country singer, this will be at Boot & Saddle, place where I just saw Pelican recently) 8/11: Rage Fest: Crown the Empire/Atilla/Veil of Maya/etc (VIP with Crown the Empire) 8/16: Extreme 9/6: Avail 9/10: Alex Skolnick Trio 9/19: STP & Rival Sons 9/22: Rancid/Pennywise/Suicidal Tendencies(Mann Center again, the "Skyline Stage", the smaller stage up on the hill) 9/27: The Peace Creeps (at 118 North in Wayne PA, near Ardmore) 10/6: Mudhoney 10/10: Deep Purple10/16: Night Club (electronic-rock duo that I saw open for Wednesday 13 last year) 10/25: Helmet

I have seen them over 20 times so I am kind of sick of "you've got another thing coming" so that wouldn't have bothered me lol. I like Uriah heep too. They are good rock.

Got Ted nugent tickets for tonight. Yeeeeaaaaah

Here's a double review of the 2 shows from last week:
Ward Davis last Thursday: Another great time at Boot & Saddle, this time it wasn't a big turnout so it wasn't packed tight like Pelican.. The first one on was Clint Park, bassist of Ward Davis's band who also plays guitar, he was good, then Charles Wesley Godwin came on, country artist from West Virginia, he was really good, had a really thick WV accent, and then finally Ward Davis, really good and a really cool guy, gave me a guitar pick, and he was wearing an Anthrax hat which I thought was cool
RageFest this past Sunday: Excellent day, got there shortly before 3:30 when they wanted all Crown the Empire VIPs to get there, so I was right on time and they started the VIP session around 4, another great one, this was my 2nd time meeting Crown the Empire, first was last December when they opened for Underoath, really cool guys, got a cool 3D poster signed by them and they signed my ticket, then we went back out and got in earlier, I got a good seat in the upper level and just stayed up there most of the time, was gonna be too packed downstairs and I didn't feel like dealing with that.. but the show was great, here's my band by band review:
First one was Life Right Now, they were pretty good, I enjoyed them, then came Hawk, good metalcore band from Lancaster, then Gideon, metalcore band from AL, then Veil of Maya, they were good as usual but I didn't feel like taking any pics of them, had already seen them a few times and I wanted to save room for others I hadn't seen, then came Attila, good band from GA, they were good but I was getting tired by the time they were on, and then finally Crown the Empire, I was exhausted by the time they were on but they were still good, I only watched a few songs since I was tired then and didn't want to get home too late, luckily I got a Lyft within a minute right outside

And another great time last night, Extreme were excellent, man Nuno Bettencourt is a killer guitarist!! The opening band was good too, Dead Fish Handshake, good heavy rock band from NJ, I liked them a lot and met them after their set at their merch booth, really cool guys.. Overall another fun Friday night at the Keswick, great end to a great summer concert season, and a great fall one lies ahead 😁

Great Avail show last night, took a Lyft down and met my friend outside who bought our tickets and then we went in, the first band was a local Philly band, I forget their name and I don't care because they sucked, lol.. but the next one was good, Angel Du$t, from Baltimore, I liked them a lot, and then finally Avail, really good, played for a good hour and 15 mins.. Aaand once again since you dont like punk I don't have to put much more detail in, lol.... now I'm excited to see Alex Skolnick on Tuesday night!!

Amazing time last night, Alex Skolnick Trio were excellent, and it was so cool getting to meet him too! They played 2 sets, I didn't stay for all of the 2nd one because I was getting kinda tired, and was more into the first set anyway.. They basically just do jazz covers of classic rock songs, and some of their own stuff too, but wow are they good! The first set included a cover of "Dream On", wow, never thought an Aerosmith song would sound so good on a jazz guitar!!! And the venue 118 North was excellent, great food and a great atmosphere, and not far from me at all, I'm definitely gonna start to go there more!! It was just so perfect, yesterday was kinda stressful and that was just what I needed to feel like myself again.. I really admire Alex Skolnick at how multi talented he is, so awesome how he can play both metal guitar and jazz guitar.. And, even though I'm not heavily into jazz I do really like the sound of jazz guitar, it's calming to listen to when you're stressed
Overall great time last night, and now I look forward to trying another new venue, The Met, next Thursday for STP!!

Great time last night, LOVE The Met, great new concert venue that I'll definitely go to more!!! Too bad I missed TB but oh well, I saw them open for Clutch last year and I'll catch them another time.. Really enjoyed Rival Sons, this was the first time I really fully watched them live, at MMRBQ 2015 their set was cut short due to the singer having vocal problems, and I sort of watched them from the VIP room at MMRBQ 2017 but I wasn't fully paying attention.. Great band, really like their sound!! And then STP were just as great as always, same setlist pretty much, but still great.. And now for Sunday, the Rancid/Pennywise/ST show has been moved to the E Factory, or ehr, "Franklin Music Hall" now, I'm not sure why but my best guess is that it's drawing too big of a turnout for the Skyline Stage, which is small.. Well I'm kinda disappointed and kinda not, I was really looking forward to going back to the Mann cause I love it so much, but, it's supposed to be kinda hot on Sunday so I'm glad it'll be indoors (Assuming it IS indoors and not on their outdoor stage) Either way it's all good, will still be a great time

And another great time last night, got there when The English Beat were on, ugh, they were terrible, I hate ska.. but luckily they ended soon enough and then ST came on, who I again wasn't so impressed with live, I just think Mike yaks too much in between songs and it's very annoying, and they make their songs seem longer than they really are.. But I did get to meet Mike at their merch booth after their set and he was cool.. Then Pennywise came on, same setlist as usual but still good, and then Rancid came on, they sounded great, I didn't watch their full set cause it was really packed in there and I was getting tired, but glad I got to see them.. And, glad it got moved to an indoor venue because it was really hot out yesterday

Fun time with The Peace Creeps on Friday 9/27, another great time at 118 North, and they were great, it was just the perfect Friday night after a stressful workweek.. Excited for Mudhoney tonight, and another addition to the December calendar, tickets go on sale tomorrow for Gov't Mule and Allman Betts Band at The Met on 12/27

Really good Loverboy show last night but the sound was horrible! I had a good time though and the opener was great. I think it was a local band

Ugh that sucks about the sound but at least you enjoyed.. Mudhoney were great last Sunday, the 2 openers were Pissed Jeans, punk band from Allentown, and Body Spray, a "noise rock" band from Philly, they were both good, and wow Deep Purple were excellent this past Thursday, despite that they didn't play a few songs I wanted to hear- "Woman from Tokyo", "Knocking On Your Back Door", and "Burn", but the setlist was good otherwise, and Joyous Wolf were really good too, really like their sound, and their singer was cool, got to meet him after their set.. I'll email you pics tomorrow night, to sign into my Yahoo account I have to have a code texted to me and I have my phone off for the night, so I'll definitely make sure I email them to you tomorrow, there is one up on my DeviantArt site in the meantime
