Here's my Sevendust and Third Eye Blind reviews:
For Sevendust I had VIP for it so I got there around 3:40, I was supposed to be there at 4.. I was told that the soundcheck VIPs would go in first at 4:30, and of course they didn't even start it till 5, so the VIPs who had the soundcheck went in first and then the regular VIPs, which I was part of, went in.. I really enjoyed meeting Sevendust, they are very friendly nice guys and very down to Earth, basically they had it set up in 2 parts, you went first to get your poster signed and then back in line for the picture.. Then all VIPs went back out, and we got in 15 minutes before the regular attendees.. and here's the band by band review:
First one was a local hardcore band called Ten Ton Hammer, good band and really cool guys, they played at This is Hardcore last year and are playing at it again this year.. then next was Never Your Zero, a new up and coming hard rock band from TX, really good band and they were nice too, for buying a $5 download card from them to download a few of their songs from their site, they gave me a free necklace with their logo on it so that was cool.. And then came He Is Legend, who I had seen a few times before, always a great live band.. and then of course, Sevendust! Just as great live as always, was cool to hear their first album start to finish.. So overall, a fun night!
And now here's my Third Eye Blind review, um, I dunno if you know Third Eye Blind at all, I might've mentioned them to you before but I forget, they're an alternative band from the late 90s, they were one of my favorites in h.s., 9th grade especially.. This show was at the Festival Pier too and it was a much clearer night than the Deftones night.. The first band was, um, I forget their name, but I didn't really like them anyway so I don't care, lol.. then the next opener was Silversun Pickups, a good alternative band with a bit of an electronic sound, they were good, I really enjoyed them... and then Third Eye Blind of course, who were just as great as always, this was my 3rd time seeing them, my first time was in 2000 when I was 15, that was the first rock show I ever went to, lol.. and 2nd was NYE at Valley Forge Casino in 2015.. Another fun night overall, and I got some free stuff too- tickets to The Toadies at the TLA on Oct 19th and a free Puddle of Mudd cd from Radio 104.5(Philly's alternative station that was presenting the show)
Here's a few Third Eye Blind songs if you're curious to hear them:
