i'll be honest, yeah it might. happened to xmen apocalypse after cap3 came out, and while i'm not a big xmen apocalypse supporter or think it's great, I do think the movie suffered greatly from being released so close to civil war, especially on the domestic front. having back to back releases of the same genre doesn't really help the second one, because plenty of people would be satiated from the first go around.
also, how many of these threads are you going to make?

I got that same suspicion. I liked the Thor: Ragnarok trailer far better than the one for Justice League.

But Thor is the God of Thunder. Why would he need to steal any of it?

I'm trying to decide which slot gives a movie a bigger advantage: being released first or released second?
On one hand, JL might have the advantage because it can cut short whatever legs Thor Ragnarok has once it comes out. On the other hand, Ragnarok has the chance to get its word of mouth in earlier so that if people want to go watch a movie 2 weeks later, they probably will go with the one with good word of mouth instead of the brand new one that just came out.

Whatever comes out first, people/families will exhaust their money the first time and if you have a similar/exact genre film come so soon after some people will hold off going to the same thing twice. It's like if you went to Burger Joint week, that lets say cost you like 20 dollars but it was pretty darn tasty, and then next week your friend wants to get a burger at a different place you're not too familiar with (let's say Five Guys), do you go with them, convince them to get some Chinese, or take them to Burger Joint (where they haven't been)?

The very idea that Thor 6 or whatever it is could compete with a JLA movie at the box office is a ridiculous indictment of Warner and the American people.

The very idea that Thor 6 or whatever it is could compete with a JLA movie at the box office is a ridiculous indictment of Warner and the American people. But the DCEU hasn't done anything that would keep people around besides put the characters together in live action. They can see that in a picture or a trailer. You guys are looking at it as the characters and not what the movies have done. Anybody can make a Justice League, Superman, Batman, and Batman and Superman movie. The problem is: can they make them good? At least with Thor you can see in the trailer that they learned from past mistakes. With Justice League it looks like the same thing we got before. Everyday moviegoers will notice that.
