Hes been injury prone his entire career and has never lived up to his potential. Its probably for the best the Colts are forced to move on from him. He wasn't the next Peyton Manning.

He's taking care of his own health. Who gives a fuck about what the fans and the team thinks? Where will "the fans" and "the team" be when he can't walk anymore 5 years down the road, or, worse than that he has a brain injury? If anybody thinks "the fans" or "the team" will give a fuck about him then they are deluded, and, even if they did what could they do about it? Fuck all is what they could do about it, good for him.

I'm going to miss that Goofballs press conferences. Sounds just like him. I always thought he'd be a natural for Geico's Caveman commercials, he looks just like one.

No one is criticizing him for doing it. He’s been criticized for doing it just two weeks before the season starts. This is why I think he's a mentally broken individual right now. He's just emotionally spent and feels empty, hollow and tired after dealing with setback upon setback. He had no intent to hurt the team, ownership or the fans - the latest injuries just broke him so to speak so he's walking away. Which is another reason why I think after he takes a year - we'll start to hear some whispers that he wants to give a comeback a shot - correct me if I'm wrong - he's still only around 29. Take a hiatus for a year and go crawl under a rock and get your head and body right - then make an epic comeback.

He was never quite the same after sustaining that kidney laceration in a game against the Broncos. Organ injuries leave emotional scars. Just ask Chris Simms. Luck became injury prone after that.
Then the shoulder injury took even more out of him. I guess the recent leg/ankle injury was the nail in the coffin. Personally I don't think he'll be back.
What a shame. Just a 7 year career. I think he would've been a HOFer if he had played another 3 to 5 years.
Will the Colts intentionally tank this year to get a top quarterback in next years draft? What'dya think?

No the Colts won’t intentionally tank IMO, they still have a talented team and if Brissett has a good year they can contend for a playoff spot, they are far from the worst team in the league even without Luck. It will be interesting to see if they draft a QB in 2020, I think it all depends on how well Brissett plays.

From what I hear, Andrew Luck suffered from Colts bad management. They surrounded him with bad talent and a bad offensive line. That is why he got so beat up and injured.
That is a problem Drew Brees and Tom Brady never had. They both had good talent and a good offensive line. That is why they annually are two of the least sacked quarterbacks in the NFL. And very rarely injured.
Can't blame Luck for quiting. Anybody else can quit their jobs anytime they want. Why can't Luck?
Certainly employers can fire, lay off or "let go" any employee anytime they want. Including NFL teams.

Just remember, the Colts were 10-6 last year. So if they only finish 5 games below that mark ( 5-11 or better ), it means Luck wasn't very good and it's the system.
