Would love to see this. A friend overseas from where I live, has recently seen at a film festival after I convinced her to go and she loved it, after she thought she might have been scared to see it. Said it was amusing and very entertaining.

I actually just finished watching this this. It's rather a funny and cheeky look at how we as a people react when others don't share the predominant belief and are assertive in defending their minority belief. There are a lot of so called Christians who would actually privately agree with these Satanists.
It's actually worth watching.

Why bother with this empty parody of Satanism? Like LaVey's group, it's just atheism for badboys in red capes. The entire philosophy has already been put forward by Ayn Rand. It's called objectivism, the virtue of selfishness. If you believe in Satan fall down before the ancient spirit. Satanism without Satan is empty.

Any form of religion without some form of idol or deity to worship would be perceived as empty and pointless. Even with the idolatry, it is still hollow and pointless.

They say they're atheists yet they live this parody. There may be some force of chaos and rebellion against the universal order. If you want to put a name on it and call it Satan, fine. A solar flare could kill million of beings in an instant without any forewarning. The universe is unjust. I'm just saying if you're an atheist stop prancing around in a red cape and eschew all superstition, even in parody form. But if you want to invoke this spirit of universal chaos and give it a name, cast a terrible spell.

Either way, Satan or God, it is all just the universe and neither are in charge, or at fault.

Then god encompasses evil. The Bible exemplifies that concept. Atheists however believe in neither for very good reasons. The Judeo-Christian god is very different than Abraxas though. When Yahweh slays the Sodomites he calls it good. Abraxas is a pantheistic deity who is beyond good and evil. He makes no pretense that everything he does is good.

That's why I argue GOP policies have more in common with Laveyan Satanism than the teachings of Jesus. Certainly on economics, welfare, and discrimination laws at least. If he was an atheist, Rand Paul's political ideaology wouldn't be that different from Laveyan Satanism.

I did get this sense that this was more or less a fake religion, much like the Rhino party in Canada. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhinoceros_PartyThe people seemed geared toward staging their events for publicity. That said, I did find some of their antics funny - like their "attacks" on the Westboro Baptist Church.

It's called objectivism, the virtue of selfishness. If you believe in Satan fall down before the ancient spirit. Satanism without Satan is empty. I agree with you that they’re atheists who are Randians rather than Satanists but they’ve adopted Satanism because it is a religion to highlight religious plurality in the First Amendment and the separation of church and state. Because as is often the case, Christians see this amendment for the plurality of the many denominations under the umbrella of Christianity rather than the plurality of all religions. This has been further exasperated by the introduction of the phrase, ‘in God we trust’ written on the currency and statues of the Ten Commandments erected outside various civic buildings such as town halls and courthouses. These atheists have got behind the figurehead of Satan to fight for a statute of Baphomet to be erected, next to wherever these statutes of the Ten Commandments are, to expose this restrictive reading of the First Amendment and the ignorance of the separation of church and state. I think Satan was chosen to show the extreme range of what may be constituted as a religion but personally I think they should’ve gone for the less controversial figure of The Buddha and fought for such statues to be erected instead because the message of plurality for all religions, and the ignorance of the separation of church and state, would’ve been the same. Interestingly tho, this neo-Satanic movement has had its dissents within its own ranks and chapters between people who are just using Satan as a figurehead and people who believe Satan to be much more.

I believe that god is associated with wholeness or fullness. The concept of a separate deity is null and void. Then god encompasses evil. It would also depend on the definition of evil. If everything is whole, goodness and evil operate on the same sphere and are one and the same. It is just a mind concept of what is good and evil and behavior can dictate as such, but consequence is always going to ensue until the concept of self is acknowledged and eliminated. People don't understand that we are here to humble ourselves.

It is not living in manner that is appropriate, but one would have to ask why a person shoots another person in the head and everyone has their story. Nothing in this life regarding what others do to us in the extreme should be taken personally and that even includes them shooting us in the head. Look at the word evil, it is live backwards. Is this how these so called evil people are living? This behavior only stems out of attitude which is conditioned right from the start. I also believe it is a cop-out to say that people are bad seeds right from conception. That way we don't have to look at ourselves and what is being projected.

I don't believe people are born bad or good just like I don't believe people are born heterosexual or homosexual. But you seem to be saying morality is relative to the situation. Lets consider a particular scenario. Say a man wants to join a street gang. As part of his initiation and to prove his worthiness, he's required to go out on the street at night and shoot some random person in the head. Is that evil?
