Two performances that changed the game for celebrity voice acting. Characters tailor made for their own respective talents. Which one do you find is the better performance?
I’m gonna go with Murphy. Williams was obviously great but he did rely on jokes that have become very dated now whilst Murphy didn’t rely too much on pop culture references for his jokes. Plus that “I’m making waffles” is one of the most inexplicably funniest line readings I’ve ever heard.

I wouldn't say Eddie Murphy changed the game for voice acting. Really, only Robin Williams did it.

Did Murphy, like Williams, also improvise or did a writer come up with his lines for him?

Murphy. I like his comedic stylings more in general.

Honestly, the best lines came from him, so I doubt that was a coincidence, since, at least IMO, the rest of the film isn’t as funny as he was.

At least I didn’t douche out and say “I know this is true”.

At least I didn’t douche out and say “I know this is true”. You were still proven wrong. I'm giving the points to Williams since he improvised his lines.

Robin Williams. Murphy was good but the Genie's animation complimented Williams' performance better. Made it feel more...spontaneous.

Robin Williams
I might actually like Murphy slightly more as Mushu than Donkey, but he's awesome as both characters.

I wouldn't say Eddie Murphy changed the game for voice acting. Really, only Robin Williams did it. Maybe but Murphy was nominated for a BAFTA for his performance. He’s still the only one with a major nom for voice acting.
