Been 25 years since this movie came out and effectively ended the Police Academy franchise (at least until the inevitable reboot, remake, etc.). Have any of you seen this film? If so, what do you think of it? How did this movie manage to rope in Christopher Lee and Ron Perlman?

A generous 5/10. I love the first 6 Police Academy film. They are childhood favorites. 7 on the other hand really lacked laughs. It was way too much slapstick and acrobat comedy.

It's a disappointing send-off. It smacks of desperation and the humour feels forced. It drew a sizeable parting pay cheque for George Gaynes so there's that at least.

This franchise is one of my guiltiest pleasures, but have other have already noted it was a pretty disappointing send-off. It was kind of nice seeing Harris finally become "part of the gang" at the end, instead of going out as their nemesis. But ultimately, while its predecessors weren't exactly timeless classics, this one was a decided notch or two below.
The producers wrote them each a paycheck...film history is full of good actors in ridiculous movies, they have to pay the rent like the rest of us.
