^I watched this crap on Youtube because I've read it's one of the best horror movies ever made. It's not. The dialogue and acting are horrible and the movie is never scary because almost nothing ever happens after the first 15 minutes, which are quite good. Even the mediocre "The Devil's Nightmare"(1972) and "The Gates of Hell"(1980) are superior Italian horror movies.

I was underwhelmed when I watched it. Definitely overrated, IMO.

I disliked Suspiria the first time i saw it on shitty pan and scan vhs but seeing it in widescreen high def last year gave me a new appreciation. Sure it has its problems narrative wise and acting wise at times but it s is a visual and aural treat that I think elevates it above 'sucking'. 6.5/10

I admit I was excited by the look and atmosphere when the movie began, but it all falls apart once the bad actresses begin their awful dialogue. I was expecting "Suspiria" to impress me like "Cemetery Man"(1994) which is the absolute best Italian horror movie I've ever seen.

Sublime direction, great performances, creepy foreboding atmosphere and the very story was engrossing.

Sublime direction, great performances, creepy foreboding atmosphere and the very story was engrossing. I guess Argento just doesn't "do it" for me. "Phenomena" was another one of his movies I read good things about but disappointed me when I saw it.

My favouite thing about the movie is the atmosphere and the visual look. Some great colour in the movie.

A film I've adored since seeing it back in the 70's. Interesting side note is that Argento wanted to use young teen actresses but couldn't due to work laws and so had the door knobs moved higher among other things to create a sense of smallness in the actresses used. Not the greatest director but what a sense of style and colour. His masterpiece for me is Profundo Rosso but he went adrift as the 80's wore on. "Jenifer" for "Masters Of Horror" was a decent effort but his lack of care in acting/script was always his downfall. Obviously the OP is trolling (badly) or maybe he is just one of those kids that only likes the American "teens in peril" type movies that have ruined their horror scene.

Well, I could also say you're obviously trolling badly for liking that colorful pile of shit movie. Watch this and learn about truly brilliant Italian horror.

Dellamorte Dellamore is an excellent film as is Suspiria. The snowglobe ending is very clever and I own the DVD myself and must get the blu ray someday. liking a good film doesn't make you right on this one though and it's all opinions anyway. Save the swearing as well, just makes you look young and silly.

I agree. The music and some of the imagery is great but it's a total bore.
